Draft Genome Sequences of Aeromonas schubertii Strains Isolated from Asian Seabass from Thailand.

ABSTRACT: Aeromonas schubertii is a Gram-negative, rod-shaped bacterium. It is a rare species that has been reported in humans and aquatic animals. Here, we report the genome sequences of A. schubertii strains isolated from two mass mortality events in central Thailand that were associated with aquaculture of Asian seabass.

Draft Genome Sequences of Six Strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus Isolated from Early Mortality Syndrome/Acute Hepatopancreatic Necrosis Disease Shrimp in Thailand.

Project description:Some strains of Vibrio parahaemolyticus cause acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease (AHPND) in shrimp. We sequenced 3 AHPND and 3 non-AHPND strains and found that all of them lacked the pathogenicity island relevant to human infection. A unique sequence encoding a type IV pilus/type IV secretion system was found in 3 AHPND strains.

Draft Genome Sequences of Five Fungal Strains Isolated from Kefir.

Project description:We present the annotated draft genome sequences of five fungal strains isolated from kefir grains. These isolates included three ascomycetous (Candida californica, Kazachstania exigua, and Kazachstania unispora) and one basidiomycetous (Rhodotorula mucilaginosa) species. The results revealed a detailed overview of the metabolic features of kefir fungi that will be potentially useful in biotechnological applications.

Draft Genome Sequences of Campylobacter jejuni Strains Isolated from Poultry.

Project description:Four wild-type Campylobacter jejuni strains isolated from the cecal contents of broiler chickens were sequenced. The average genome size was 1,622,170 bp, with 1,667 to 1,761 coding sequences and 47 to 51 RNAs. Multiple genes encoding motility, intestinal colonization, toxin production, stress tolerance, and multidrug resistance were present in all the strains.

Project description:The bacterial species Aeromonas salmonicida officially has five subspecies. A large majority of the currently available sequences come from Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. salmonicida, which causes furunculosis in salmonids. We present the genomic sequences of four Aeromonas salmonicida subsp. achromogenes strains. This will help increase the robustness of genomic analyses for this subspecies.

All these are closely related to Vibrio alginolyticus. Their comparative genome information is useful for studies of TTX production in bacteria.
