Mounting evidence indicates that interleukin 17 (IL-17) is critically involved in the pathogenesis of severe asthma. We have previously reported that upon IL-17 stimulation, Act1, an IL-17-receptor-complex adaptor, directly binds to its target mRNAs and utilizes other proteins, such as HuR, to upregulate mRNA stability and translation.
