Optical spectromicroscopies, which can reach atomic resolution due to plasmonic enhancement, are perturbed by spontaneous intensity modifications. Here, we study such fluctuations in plasmonic electroluminescence at the single-atom limit profiting from the precision of a low-temperature scanning tunneling microscope.
