Public phosphorylation databases such as PhosphoSitePlus (PSP) and PeptideAtlas (PA) compile results from published papers or openly available mass spectrometry (MS) data. However, there is no database-level control for false discovery of sites, likely leading to the overestimation of true phosphosites.
