Project description:Here, we report the genome sequencing data for the fermented milk isolate, Lactiplantibacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) IMI 507028. The Bioproject, SRA, and GenBank data were deposited at NCBI under accession numbers PRJNA801616, SRR18323693, and JAKMAX000000000, respectively. The size of the genome was 3,231,321 bp, with a GC% of 44.52. Before sequence trimming, the genome contained 40 contigs, in which 35 contigs were annotated, revealing 2937 coding sequences out of 3052 total genes. The strain was identified as L. plantarum with an average nucleotide identity (ANI) value of 99.9922% between IMI 507028 and L. plantarum JDM1. Genes related to antimicrobial resistance or pathogenic factors were not found during screening.

Project description:Here we report the draft genome sequence of the Lactiplantibacillus plantarum IMI 507027 strain. The genome consists of 37 contigs with a total size of 3,235,614 bp and a GC% of 44.51. After sequence trimming, 31 contigs were annotated, revealing 3,126 genes, of which 3,030 were coding sequences. The Average Nucleotide Identity (ANI) gave a value of 99.9926% between IMI 507027 and L. plantarum JDM1, identifying the strain as L. plantarum. No genes of concern for safety-related traits such as antimicrobial resistance or virulence factors were found. The annotated genome and raw sequence reads were deposited at NCBI under Bioproject with the accession number PRJNA791753.

Draft genome sequence data of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum 33C isolated from Lithuanian fermented food.

Project description:This strain was isolated from traditionally (homemade) fermented Lithuanian cherry tomatoes. The genome consists of 55 contigs with a total size of 3,326,119 bp, an N50 of 170738, and a GC% of 44.3 %. According to the COG annotation, most of these proteins were divided into three categories related to transcription (K category: 307), amino acid transport and metabolism (E category: 222), and carbohydrate transport and metabolism (G category: 268). No genes associated with antimicrobial resistance or virulence factors were identified. The data presented here can be used in comparative genomics to identify antimicrobial resistance genes and virulence factors that may be present in relevant Lactobacillus species. PlasmidFinder server revealed the presence of plasmid pR18 (assessment number JN601038) in the genome that has lincomycin resistance, can be transferred from one bacterium to another, and is one of the most common plasmids in the genera Bacillus and Lactobacillus. The draft genome sequence data have been deposited with NCBI under Bioproject under accession number PRJNA947394.

Whole Genome Sequence Analysis of Lactiplantibacillus plantarum Bacteriophage P2.

Project description:Phage P2 was isolated from failed fermentation broth carried out by Lactiplantibacillus plantarum IMAU10120. A previous study in our laboratory showed that this phage belonged to the Siphoviridae family. In this study, this phage's genomic characteristics were analyzed using whole-genome sequencing. It was revealed that phage P2 was 77.9 kb in length and had 39.28% G + C content. Its genome included 96 coding sequences (CDS) and two tRNA genes involved in the function of the structure, DNA replication, packaging, and regulation. Phage P2 had higher host specificity; many tested strains were not infected. Cell wall adsorption experiments showed that the adsorption receptor component of phage P2 might be a part of the cell wall peptidoglycan. This research might enrich the knowledge about genomic information of lactobacillus phages and provide some primary data to establish phage control measures.
