Protocol for assessing ex vivo lipolysis of murine adipose tissue.


ABSTRACT: Here, we provide a detailed protocol for assessing ex vivo lipolysis of subcutaneous and visceral white adipose tissue. We describe a robust approach to detect depot-specific changes in lipolytic potential under basal and beta-adrenergic receptor-stimulated conditions. Given that adipose tissue plays a critical role in systemic metabolic health, this experimental protocol can be used to determine changes in adipose tissue function in health and disease.
