Thiazolidinediones (TZDs) enhance insulin secretory response via GPR40 and adenylate cyclase (AC).

ABSTRACT: Thiazolidinediones are synthetic PPARγ ligands that enhance insulin sensitivity, and that could increase insulin secretion from β-cells. However, the functional role and mechanism(s) of action in pancreatic β-cells have not been investigated in detail.
