ABSTRACT: Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Paenibacillus odorifer strain V, which was isolated from the fecal material of a rabbit living in the wild. The genome size is 6,863,583 bp, with 44.35 mol% G+C content.

Project description:ObjectivesPaenibacillus species, belonging to the family Paenibacillaceae, are able to survive for long periods under adverse environmental conditions. Several Paenibacillus species produce antimicrobial compounds and are capable of biodegradation of various contaminants; therefore, more investigations at the genomic level are necessary to improve our understanding of their ecology, genetics, as well as potential biotechnological applications.Data descriptionIn the present study, we describe the draft genome sequence of Paenibacillus sp. EZ-K15 that was isolated from nitrocellulose-contaminated wastewater samples. The genome comprises 7,258,662 bp, with a G+C content of 48.6%. This whole genome shotgun project has been deposited at DDBJ/ENA/GenBank under the accession PDHM00000000. Data demonstrated here can be used by other researchers working or studying in the field of whole genome analysis and application of Paenibacillus species in biotechnological processes.

Draft genome sequence of Paenibacillus sp. strain A2.

Project description:Paenibacillus sp. strain A2 is a Gram-negative rod-shaped bacterium isolated from a mixture of formation water and petroleum in Daqing oilfield, China. This facultative aerobic bacterium was found to have a broad capacity for metabolizing hydrocarbon and organosulfur compounds, which are the main reasons for the interest in sequencing its genome. Here we describe the features of Paenibacillus sp. strain A2, together with the genome sequence and its annotation. The 7,650,246 bp long genome (1 chromosome but no plasmid) exhibits a G+C content of 54.2 % and contains 7575 protein-coding and 49 RNA genes, including 3 rRNA genes. One putative alkane monooxygenase, one putative alkanesulfonate monooxygenase, one putative alkanesulfonate transporter and four putative sulfate transporters were found in the draft genome.

Draft genome sequence of an endophytic bacterium, Paenibacillus tyrfis strain SUK123, isolated from Santiria apiculata stem.

Project description:Here we report the draft genome sequence of an endophytic Paenibacillus tyrfis strain isolated from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia reserve forest, Malaysia. The genome size was approximately 8.04 Mb, and the assembly consisted of 107 scaffolds with 168 contigs, and had a G + C content of 53%. Phylogenetic analysis of strain SUK123 using the 16S rRNA gene revealed that it belonged to the family Paenibacillaceae with the highest similarity to Paenibacillus elgii SDT (99%). Whole genome comparison of SUK123 with related species using average nucleotide identity (ANI) analysis revealed a similarity of 98% to Paenibacillus tyrfis Mst1T, 94% to Paenibacillus elgii B69T, 91% to Paenibacillus ehimensis A2T, 68% to Paenibacillus polymyxa SC2T and 69% to Paenibacillus alvei DMS29T. The draft genome was deposited at the European Nucleotide Archive (PRJEB21373).

The annotation of the ~5.7-Mb sequence indicated a cluster of genes related to the glycosyl hydrolase family and the butanediol biosynthesis pathway.

Draft genome sequence data of <i>Paenibacillus Polymyxa</i> strain TH2H2, isolated from a tomato flower in Korea.

Project description:Members of the genus Paenibacillus are known for their production of useful substances, and some species of the genus are recognized to be plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria. Paenibacillus polymyxa TH2H2, isolated from a tomato flower, had antifungal activity. Here, the draft genome sequence of Paenibacillus polymyxa TH2H2 is reported. The 5,983,104-bp genome, with a G+C content of 45.31%, comprised 5,221 protein-coding genes, 64 ribosomal RNA and 100 transfer RNA. Three intact antibiotic biosynthesis gene clusters were identified using antiSMASH. These encoded the antifungal agent fusaricidin and two antibacterial agents, tridecaptin and polymyxin. Sequence data have been deposited in the DDBJ/ENA/GenBank database under the accession number RPDG01000000. The version described in this paper is RPDG00000000.1. The BioProject ID in the GenBank database is PRJNA505713.
