The surface hydrophobicity of poly(ε-caprolactone) electrospun scaffolds prevents their interactions with cells and tissue integration. Although plasma treatment of scaffolds enhances their hydrophilicity, this effect is temporary, and the hydrophobicity of the scaffolds is restored in about 30 days.
