Although the significance of red deer (<i>Cervus elaphus</i>) and roe deer (<i>Capreolus capreolus</i>) as hosts and their role in the circulation of vector-borne pathogens in Europe is well described, the trypanosomes of moose (<i>Alces alces</i>) are poorly known.
