Steroidal glycoalkaloids (SGAs) are a class of cholesterol-derived anti-nutritional defense compound that are produced in species of the genus <i>Solanum</i>, such as tomato (<i>S. lycopersicum</i>), potato (<i>S. tuberosum</i>), and eggplant (<i>S. melongena</i>).
