(1) Background: (-)-Epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) has been reported to improve mitochondrial function in cell models, while the underlying mechanism is not clear. Cyclophilin D (CypD) is a key protein that regulates mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) opening.
