Cardiotoxicity is a frequent and often lethal complication of doxorubicin (DOX)-based chemotherapy. Here, we report that hydropersulfides (RSSH) are the most effective reactive sulfur species in conferring protection against DOX-induced toxicity in H9c2 cardiac cells.
