Single-Cell RNA-seq analysis to identify a unique tumor cell type producing multi-hormones in ectopic ACTH and CRH secreting pheochromocytoma
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: We got single-cell transcriptome profiles from a total of 6 tumor specimens (HUUA, HUUM, HUUR, GS, T1, and T2) and 1 control (HUUN) were collected from 3 cases, i.e., pheochromocytoma with ectopic ACTH and CRH secretion, common pheochromocytoma and adrenocortical adenoma. In this study, we identified a unique ACTH+&CRH+ pheochromocyte cell type with high expression of POMC (precursor of ACTH) and CRH, suggesting that the rare case of ACTH and CRH secreting pheochromocytoma contained a unique multi-functionally chromaffin-like cell type.
