Preparation of insoluble collagen from human cartilage.

ABSTRACT: A simple technique is described for the removal of proteoglycans from human cartilage by sequential treatments with H(2)O(2) followed by trypsin digestion. The resultant fibres contain no uronic acids and have the amino acid composition of highly purified collagen.
