ABSTRACT: The dinuclear complex in the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(16)H(6)N(2)O(8))(H(2)O)(10)]·4H(2)O, lies on an inversion center. Two delocalized carboxyl-ate groups are each connected in a monodentate fashion to two similar penta-aqua-manganese units, whereas the other two localized carboxyl-ate groups are uncoordinated. The metal ion has octa-hedral coordination, with the O atom of a carboxyl-ate group and three coordinated water mol-ecules forming the equatorial plane [Mn-O(COO) = 2.143?(4)?Å] and two water mol-ecules occupying the axial positions. The architecture is further consolidated by extensive hydrogen bonds for which coordinated water mol-ecules serve as donors or acceptors.

The dinuclear complex in the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(16)H(6)N(2)O(8))(H(2)O)(10)]·4H(2)O, lies on an inversion center. One 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecule bridges two Mn atoms, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear complex; the mid-point of the C-C bond linking the pyridine rings of the bridging ligand is located on an inversion center. Each Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water and two 4,4'-bipyridine mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The Mn(II) atom deviates by 0.591?(5) and 0.209?(2)?Å from the mean planes of the coordinated pyridine rings. In the 4-(4-pyridyl)pyridinium cation, the two pyridine rings are twisted with respect to each other, making dihedral angle of 34.78?(17)°. The uncoordinated bipyridine mol-ecule is also centrosymmetric. One of uncoordinated water mol-ecules has site symmetry 2, and the other uncoordinated water mol-ecule is located close to an inversion center and its one H atom is disordered equally over two sites. Extensive ?-? stacking between pyridine rings is observed and an extensive hydrogen-bonding network of the types N-H?N, O-H?N and O-H?O is present.

Project description:The title compound, [Mn(C₆H₄N₅)₂(H₂O)₄]·4H₂O, was obtained by the solution reaction of MnCl₂ and 3-(2H-tetra-zol-5-yl)pyridine. The Mn(II) atom, located on an inversion center, shows a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry and is coordinated by two pyridine N atoms from two 5-(pyridin-3-yl)tetra-zolide ligands occupying trans positions and four water mol-ecules. In the crystal, the mononuclear complex mol-ecules and solvent water mol-ecules are connected into a three-dimensional framework by O-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title compound, {[Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](C(9)H(7)O(3))(2)·2H(2)O}(n), was obtained by the hydro-thermal reaction of manganese chloride with mixed 3-hydroxy-lcinnamic acid (H(2)L) and 4,4'-bipyridine (4,4'-bipy) ligands. The structure contains [Mn(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](2+) cations with the Mn(II) atoms lying on a centres of inversion and bridged into a linear chain along the a axis by 4,4'-bipy ligands, surrounded by HL(-) anions and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Extensive O-H?O hydrogen-bonding and weak ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7572 ?(3)?Å] between the constituents lead to the formation of a three-dimensional supra-molecular network.

Project description:The two unique Ni(II) atoms of the title complex, [MnNi(2)(C(11)H(8)N(3)O(6))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·4H(2)O, have a slightly distorted square-planar coordination environment with a tetra-dentate N-(5-nitro-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)glycylglycinate Schiff base trianion. The Ni(II) atoms are coordinated by one phenolate O atom, one imine N atom, one amido N atom and one carboxyl-ate O atom. The Mn(II )atom is connected via the carboxyl-ate groups, forming a hetero-trinuclear Ni(II)-Mn(II)-Ni(II) system. The Mn(II) atom is six-coordinated in an octa-hedral geometry by four O atoms from two carboxyl-ate groups and four water mol-ecules. The Ni(II)-Mn(II)-Ni(II) hetero-trinuclear mol-ecules are stacked in the crystal and cross-linked through O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, {[Fe(CHO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·4H(2)O}(n), the Fe(II) ion is coordinated by two 4,4'-bipyridyl (4,4'-bpy) ligands, three formate ligands and one water molecule. The slightly distorted octahedral FeN(2)O(4) coordination results from the N atoms of two bridging 4,4'-bpy ligands, the O atoms of two bridging HCOO(-) anions of anti-anti mode, all in trans positions around the metal centre, and the O atoms of one terminal HCOO(-) anion and of one water molecule. The bridging formate ligands link the metal ions into chains that are further connected via 4,4'-bpy ligands into a framework structure. The three-dimensional structure is stabilized by extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding. The crystals were twinned containing a 0.84:0.16 racemate.

Project description:The crystalline product (NH4)2[Zn(C3H7NO)(H2O)5]2[V10O28]·4H2O was success-fully isolated from an H2O/DMF solvent combination by evaporation at ambient temperature. The salt crystallizes in the P21/n space group. Imidazole, initially used in the synthesis but not present in the product, and DMF solvent appear to affect the synthesis and crystallization as structural-directing agents. In the title compound, the complex cation [Zn(H2O)5(DMF)]2+ acts as a counter-ion without being directly coordinated to the deca-vanadate anion. An extensive framework of hydrogen bonds integrates the whole architecture as evidenced by X-ray crystallography. The polyoxometalate [V10O28]6- lies on a center of symmetry while the complex cation [Zn(H2O)5(DMF)]2+ links three adjacent anions through a set of 2 + 2 + 3 hydrogen bonds.

The dianion is located about an inversion center; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, a sulfonatoisophthalate group, a water mol-ecule along with two bridging water mol-ecules in an octa-hedral geometry. The cation lies on a twofold rotation axis; the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by four water mol-ecules and a chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. A partially overlapped arrangement between the bipyridine ligands and the aromatic ring of the sulfoisophthalate group of adjacent anions is observed; the distance (3.357 Å) indicates π-π stacking. Hydrogen bonds, with the water mol-ecules serving as hydrogen-bond donors, lead to a three-dimensional network architecture.
