ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(28)H(36)N(2)O(16), was obtained unintentionally in an attempt to synthesize 1,3,4,6-tetra-O-acetyl-2-azido-2-de-oxy-d-mannopyran-ose. The crystal packing utilizes methyl-acet-oxy C-H?O and meth-yl-pyrazine C-H?N hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the two independent but very similar mol-ecules (A and B) of the title compound, C(14)H(16)N(2)O(8), both six-membered pyrimidine rings are nearly planar [maximum deviations = 0.010?(3)?Å in A and 0.028?(3)?Å in B]. The five-membered furan-ose ring in mol-ecule A adopts an envelope conformation, while the same ring in mol-ecule B has a twisted conformation. In the crystal, the A mol-ecules are linked via a pair of inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers. Each A mol-ecule is further linked to a B mol-ecule via a second N-H?O hydrogen bond. There are also a number of C-H?·O inter-actions present, leading to the formation of a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C17H27O8P, was prepared by Michaelis-Arbuzov reaction of ethyl 2-bromo-2-(2,3,4-tri-meth-oxy-phen-yl)acetate and triethyl phosphite. Such compounds rarely crystallize, but single crystals were recovered after the initial oil was left for approximately 10 years. The bond angle of the sp (3)-hybridized C atom connecting the benzene derivative with the phospho unit is widened marginally [112.5?(2)°]. The terminal P-O bond length of 1.464?(2)?Å clearly indicates a double bond, whereas the two O atoms of the eth-oxy groups connected to the phospho-rous atom have bond lengths of 1.580?(2)?Å and 1.581?(3)?Å. The three meth-oxy groups emerge out of the benzene-ring plane due to steric hindrance [C-C-O-C torsion angles = -179.9?(3)°, -52.9?(4)° and 115.3?(4)°]. In the crystal, inversion dimers linked by pairs of C-H?O=P hydrogen bonds generate R 2 (2)(14) loops. The chosen crystal was modelled as a non-merohedral twin.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(17)NO(3), contains two mol-ecules with different conformations. It is a polymorph of the monoclinic form [El Antri et al. (2004 ?). Mol-ecules, 9, 650-657]; the samples were crystallized at different temperatures from the same solvent. In both structures, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N hydrogen bonds, forming chains. The conformations of the chains and their packing differ markedly in the two polymorphs.
