2-(4-Methoxy-phen-yl)phenanthro[9,10-d]imidazole methanol solvate.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(22)H(16)N(2)O·CH(4)O, is a product of the condensation reaction between phenanthrene-quinone and 4-methoxy-benzadehyde. There are two imidazole mol-ecules and two methanol molecules in the asymmetric unit. The phenanthryl and imidazole rings are almost parallel in both mol-ecules, with inter-planar angles of 6.65?(1) and 5.40?(3)°. The dihedral angles between the imidazole and the attached benzene rings are 5.40?(3) and 6.65?(1)° in the two molecules. Inter-molecular O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds stabilize the crystal packing.

The dihedral angle between the the meth-oxy-benzene and fluoro-benzene rings is 69.45?(6)°. In the crystal, C-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules into infinite strands along the b axis. The crystal structure is further consolidated by C-H?? inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C29H19F3N2O, a phenanthroline-fused imidazole tetra-cyclic system, the fused benzene rings deviate slightly from the central ring and make dihedral angles with this ring of 3.47?(8) and 3.05?(8)°. The tri-fluoro-methyl-phenyl ring is roughly coplanar with the phenanthroline-fused imidazole tetra-cyclic system [dihedral angle = 11.02?(6)°], while the meth-oxy-phenyl ring is almost perpendicular [dihedral angle = 87.65?(6)°]. There are intra-molecular C-H ?? inter-actions involving the meth-oxy-phenyl ring and the central phenanthroline ring, as well as an inter-molecular C-H?? inter-action involving the phenanthroline ring. Project description:In the title compound, (C(19)H(18)NO(2))(2)[ZnI(4)]·CH(3)OH, each cation is nearly planar and exists in an E configuration, the dihedral angles between the quinolinium systems and the benzene rings being 1.78?(10) and 5.44?(10)° for the two cations. The [ZnI(4)](2-) anion displays a very slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry. There are intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the hydr-oxy and meth-oxy groups in each cation which generate S(5) ring motifs. In the crystal structure, cations are linked together by O-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H?O inter-actions, whereas the anions are linked to the cations through weak C-H?I inter-actions. The asymmetric unit also contains a methanol solvent mol-ecule which is linked to one of the cations by an O-H?O hydrogen bond and the anion through an O-H?I hydrogen bond. The crystal is further stabilized by C-H?? and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances 3.6054?(15) and 3.6057?(15)?Å].

Project description:The title compound, C(8)H(12)O(7)P(2)·CH(4)O, is a monoesterified bis-phospho-nate (or 1-hydroxy-methyl-ene-1,1-bis-phospho-nic acid). These synthetic compounds are widely used in medicine to inhibit bone resorption in diseases like osteoporosis, and are characterized by a stable P-C-P group and are thus analogs of inorganic pyrophosphate. By masking one or several ionizable groups, introduced as phosphono-ester, it was anti-cipated the formation of prodrugs with higher lipophilicity that could facilitate the drug delivery and metabolization. Mol-ecules are paired by inter-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the phospho-nic groups. In addition, dimers are connected side-by-side, building infinite ribbons along the a-axis direction; these ribbons are cross-linked perpendicularly along the b-axis direction via a methanol solvent mol-ecule (disordered over two sites with occupancy factors ca 0.6 and 0.4), forming an extended inter-molecular hydrogen-bonded network. The H atoms of the methyl group in the main molecule are disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:There are three independent mol-ecules of 1,3-bis-(2-ethoxy-phen-yl)triazene and a mol-ecule of methanol in the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(19)N(3)O(2)·0.33CH(3)OH. Two mol-ecules related by a non-crystallographic pseudo-twofold rotation axis are linked via distinct inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds, leading to the formation of a dimer with an R(2) (2)(8) graph set. The third mol-ecule is connected to the methanol mol-ecule by O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds. There are a number of weak C-H?? inter-actions, with H?? distances ranging from 2.74 to 2.89?Å between the C-H groups and the aromatic benzene rings.
