ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(7)H(15)N(3)P(+)·BF(4) (-) or [PTA-Me][BF(4)], is the N-methyl-ated derivative of the well known water-soluble amino-phosphine 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA). The asymmetric unit consists of a cage-like cation [PTA-Me](+) and a disordered tetra-fluoro-borate anion; two F atoms are disordered equally over two sites. A network of weak inter-molecular C-H?F hydrogen bonds results in a three-dimensional supra-molecular assembly.

Project description:The title compound, C(7)H(15)N(3)OP(+)·I(3) (-), is a derivative of the well known water-soluble amino-phosphine 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA). The crystal structure is composed of a cage-like 1-methyl-1-azonia-3,5-diaza-7-phospha-tricyclo-[3.3.1.1]decane 7-oxide cation and a triiodide anion. The N-methyl-ation of the PTA cage results in a slight elongation of the corresponding C-N bonds, while the oxidation of the P atom leads to a slight shortening of the C-P bonds in comparison with those of PTA. In general, most of the bonding parameters are comparable with those reported for related compounds bearing the PTA core. Two inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds between methyl-ene groups and the P=O group are responsible for the linkage of neighbouring cations into linear one-dimensional hydrogen-bonded chains.

Project description:In the title compound, C(7)H(10)N(+)·BF(4) (-)·C(12)H(24)O(6), the proton-ated 4-methyl-anilinium cation inter-acts with 18-crown-6 forming a rotator-stator structure, (C(6)H(4)CH(3)NH(3) (+))(18-crown-6), through three bifurcated N-H?(O,O) hydrogen bonds between the ammonium groups of the cations (-NH(3)) and the O atoms of the crown ether mol-ecule. The BF(4) (-) anions, the methyl group and the protonated -NH(3) groups of the 4-methylanilinium lie on a dual axis of rotation. The 18-crown-6 unit is perpendicular to the dual axis of rotation and the mirror plane which contains the dual axis of rotation. The benzene ring of 4-methylanilinium is perpendicular to the mirror plane and parallel to the dual axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C7H7N2 (+)·BF4 (-), comprises two independent but nearly identical formula units. The solid-state structure comprises corrugated layers of cations and anions, formed by C-H⋯F hydrogen bonding, that are approximately parallel to (010). Intra-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds stabilize the conformation of the dication. In the crystal, the dications are bridged by perchlorate ions via N-H?O hydrogen bonds into supra-molecular chains propagating along the c axis and weak C-H?O inter-actions cross-link the chains.
