Tetra-potassium cis-dioxido-trans-bis-(sulfato-?O)sulfato(?O,O')molybdate(VI).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, K(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)], was precipitated from a melt of molybdenum(VI) oxide and potassium sulfate in potassium disulfate. The compound contains monomeric [Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)](4-) anions, with the Mo(VI) atom, both oxide ligands, and the S atom and both ligating O atoms of the bidentate sulfate group lying on a crystallographic mirror plane. One of the potassium cations is nine-coordinate, while the other is eight-coordinate.

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, {Na(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)]}(n), were grown from a melt of MoO(3) and Na(2)SO(4) in Na(2)S(2)O(7). In contrast to the structure of the isoformular K compound, K(4)[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(3)], with its monomeric anion, this sodium analogue contains a polymeric anion of the type {[Mo(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(2)-?-(SO(4))](4-)}(n). The Mo(VI) cations, surrounded by two tightly bonded O atoms and four O atoms of one bridging and two terminal sulfato ligands, form zigzag chains parallel to [100]. All four Na(+) cations are situated between the anionic chains and have distorted octa-hedral coordination spheres.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(5)H(6)N)(3)[MoCl(4)O(2)]Cl, the pyridinium cations are N-H?Cl hydrogen bonded to the anionic [MoCl(4)O(2)](2-) complexes and to the two crystallographically independent chloride anions (located on C2 axes). The Mo(6+) centre adopts a highly distorted octa-hedral geometry, being surrounded by four chloride and two terminal oxide groups. The oxide ligands are mutually cis.

Project description:The title compound, Rb(8)[W(2)O(4)(SO(4))(6)], was precipitated from a melt of tungsten(VI) oxide and rubidium sulfate in rubidium disulfate. The unit cell contains two discrete [{W(VI)O(2)(SO(4))(2)}(2)(?-SO(4))(2)](8-) units connected by Rb-O coord-ination. The W atom is octahedrally surrounded by two oxide ligands, two terminal sulfate ligands and two bridging sulfate groups. One Rb atom is coordinated by eight O atoms, whereas the three other Rb atoms are coordinated by nine O atoms from sulfate and oxide groups, leading to distorted [RbO(x)] polyhedra.

Project description:The title compound, (C(3)H(10)N)(2)[MoS(4)], was synthesized by passing a rapid stream of H(2)S into an aqueous isopropyl-amine solution of molybdic acid. The title compound is isotypic with the corresponding W analogue (C(3)H(10)N)(2)[WS(4)]; its structure consists of a slightly distorted tetra-hedral [MoS(4)](2-) dianion and two crystallographically independent isopropyl-ammonium cations, with all atoms located in general positions. The cations and anion are linked by weak N-H⋯S and C-H⋯S inter-actions, the strength and number of which can explain the observed Mo-S bond distances.

Project description:The title salt, (C(5)H(6)N)(4)[Mo(2)Cl(2)O(5)(SO(4))(2)], comprises four pyridinium cations for each [(MoClO(2))(2)(?-O)(?-SO(4))(2)](4-) anionic unit. The asymmetric unit consists of three aggregates of the empirical formula. The tetra-anionic bimetallic molybdenum(VI) cluster is unprecedented and contains two sulfate and one oxide bridges. This structure constitutes the first example of a non-polymeric compound with terminal oxide, sulfate and halide ligands bonded to the same metal. The hydrogen bonds connecting the pyridinium cations to the molybdenum clusters are diverse, varying from strong and directional interactions to bifurcated bonds with a subsequent loss of directionality.

Project description:The title arsenatomolybdate, K(5)[Mo(8)O(24)(OH)(2)(AsO(4))]·2H(2)O, which was obtained hydro-thermally, features an [AsMo(8)O(28)(OH)(2)](5-) anion, which is formed by two Mo(4)O(14)(OH) units that are linked by As in a sandwich-like fashion. The overall symmetry of the anion is m2m. The {Mo(4)O(14)(OH)} core is composed of two pairs of confacial biocta-hedral {Mo(2)O(9)} units with two ?(4)-O atoms which have been characterized as hydroxyl groups. The anions are further inter-connected by potassium cations, forming a three-dimensional network structure with the uncoordinated water mol-ecules occupying the channels. The structure is further stabilized by O-H?O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:The title compound (NH(4))(4)[Mo(8)O(24)(O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·4H(2)O, consists of an octa-molybdate cluster with a crystallographic centre of symmetry. The clusters pack in a cubic close packing arrangement defining channels containing water mol-ecules and ammonium cations, which exhibit hydrogen bonding with neighbouring clusters. Hydrogen bonding also exists between the coordinated water mol-ecules of one cluster with one of the O atoms of the peroxido fragment in a neighbouring cluster.

Project description:The anion of the title complex, Cs(2)[PuCl(4)O(2)], adopts a pseudo-octa-hedral geometry (2/m crystallographic site symmetry) with two plutonyl oxide ligands in axial sites and four chloride ligands occupying the equatorial plane. Charge balance is maintained by two caesium cations per tetra-chlorido-dioxido-plutonate(VI) anion. Principal bond lengths include Pu-O = 1.752?(3)?Å and Pu-Cl = 2.6648?(8)?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, K(I) (4)[Mo(III)(CN)(7)]·2H(2)O, consists of one [Mo(CN)(7)](4-) anion, four K(+) cations, and two water mol-ecules. The [Mo(III)(CN)(7)](4-) anion has a seven-coordinated capped-trigonal-prismatic coordination geometry. The site-occupancy factors of the disordered water mol-ecules were set at 0.90, 0.60 and 0.50. The H-atom positions could not be determined for two of the water mol-ecules. The H atoms of the water with a site-occupancy factor of 0.90 were refined using O-H and H⋯H distance restraints.

Project description:A trimethyl-phenyl-ammonium salt of a dinuclear ?-oxalate complex of diperoxidomonomolybdate units, (C9H14N)2[Mo2(C2O4)(O2)4O2], was obtained from an acidic aqueous solution; the dianion is located about a centre of inversion. Each Mo atom bears two peroxide groups together with one O atom from the oxalate group in its equatorial positions and one terminal O atom as well as another O atom from the oxalate in axial positions. The oxalate group acts as a tetra-dentate bridging ligand and bridges between the diperoxidomolybdate units.
