ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(24)H(26)O(2), was obtained unintentionally as the product of an attempted synthesis of a new chiral cobalt salen catalyst. There are no classical hydrogen bonds; inter-molecular C-H?? stacking inter-actions between aromatic rings help to establish the mol-ecular conformation.
