Bis(N,N-diethyl-dithio-carbamato)(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(III) tetra-fluorido-borate.

ABSTRACT: The cationic complex in the structure of the title compound, [Co(Et(2)NCS(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]BF(4), has a Co(III) atom with a distorted octa-hedral coordination formed by four S atoms of two diethyl-dithio-carbamate and two N atoms of 1,10-phenanthroline ligands. The crystal structure features head-to-tail stacking of the phenanthroline ligands. The tetra-fluorido-borate anions are positioned in the channels between the cation stacks running along the a axis, and form weak C-H?F interactions.

Project description:The copper(II) atom in the title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(10)NS(2))I(C(12)H(8)N(2))], is chelated by the N-heterocycle and the dithio-carbamate anion in a slightly distorted tetragonal coordination. The tetragonal-pyramidal coorination is completed by the iodine atom in the apical position. One ethyl group is disordered over two positions with site occupancies of 0.31?(2) and 0.69?(2).

Redetermination of tetra-kis(N,N-diethyl-dithio-carbamato)tin(IV).

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Sn(C(5)H(10)NS(2))(4)], was originally determined by Harreld & Schlemper [Acta Cryst. (1971), B27, 1964-1969] using intensity data estimated from Weissenberg films. In comparison with the previous refinement, the current redetermination reveals anisotropic displacement parameters for all non-H atoms, localization of the H atoms, and higher precision of lattice parameters and inter-atomic distances. The complex features a distorted S(6) octa-hedral coordination geometry for tin and a cis disposition of the monodentate dithio-carbamate ligands.

Each of the ligands coordinates in a symmetric mode. The crystal packing is stabilized by weak C-H?S, C-H??(ZnS(2)C) and ?-? [ring centroid distance between centrosymmetrically related pyridyl rings = 3.5955?(13)?Å] inter-actions.

Project description:In the title manganese(III) complex, [MnCl(2)(C(10)H(24)N(4))]BF(4) or trans-[MnCl(2)(cyclam)]BF(4) (cyclam is the tetra-dentate amine ligand 1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclo-tetra-deca-ne), the Mn(III) ions occupy the center of a distorted octa-hedron coordinated by all four ligand nitro-gen donors in the macrobicyclic cavity and two chloride ions occupy the axial positions. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonding involving the coordinated chloride ions and the hydrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand is observed. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonding involving the tetrafluoridoborate anion and hydrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand leads to an infinite one-dimensional chain along the a axis. The tetra-fluoridoborate and inorganic units are linked by N-H?F hydrogen bonds. The structure may be compared with those of analogous compounds [MnCl(2)(cyclam)]ClO(4) and [Mn(CN)(2)(cyclam)]ClO(4).

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(20)H(23)N(3)O(2))(C(5)H(11)N)](C(24)H(20)B) or [Co{(Me-sal)(2)dien}(pprdn)]BPh(4), where (Me-sal)(2)dien is 2,2'-[1,1'-(3-aza-pentane-1,5-diyldinitrilo)diethyl-idyne]diphenolate and pprdn is piperidine, contains a penta-dentate (Me-sal)(2)dien ligand furnishing an N(3)O(2) set, such that two of the N and one of the O atoms of the salicyl-idene rings define three positions of an equatorial plane, whereas the secondary amine N atom and the other O atom of the salicyl-idene lie in axial positions. The piperidine ligand occupies an equatorial position trans to one of the imine N atoms of the salicyl-idene. In the observed conformation of the penta-dentate ligand, the salicyl-idene rings attain asymmetrical positions owing to the structural demands. The geometry of the resulting CoN(4)O(2) coordination can be described as distorted octa-hedral. The asymetric unit contains two formula units.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(CH(3)CN)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)](BF(4))(2), crystallizes with two copper-containing cations and four tetra-fluoro-borate anions in the asymmetric unit. The structure represents a second crystal form of the salt, the first being an acetonitrile solvate [Watton (2009 ?). Acta Cryst. E65, m585-m586]. The complex cation has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry, whereas the previous structure exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. One of the four BF(4) (-) counter-ions is disordered, with a refined site occupancy of 0.8615?(17):0.1385?(17).

Project description:Two independent but very similar mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(16)NS(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))]. The N(2)S(4) donor set about Zn is defined by two symmetrically chelating dithio-carbamate ligands and a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand. Distortions from the ideal octa-hedral coordination geometry arise from the restricted bite angles of the ligands. The main feature of the crystal packing is the formation of tetra-meric supra-molecular aggregates mediated by C-H?S inter-actions. Disorder was found in each of the sec-butyl groups. This was resolved over two positions in each case with the major components of the disorder having site occupancies in the range 0.551?(6)-0.725?(5).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(12)H(8)N(2)·0.5C(2)H(4)N(2)S(2), contains one 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecule and a half-mol-ecule of dithio-oxamide, which lies across a crystallographic inversion center. The 1,10-phenanthroline unit is not strictly planar, with dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and the pyridine rings of 1.42?(10) and 1.40?(10)°. In the crystal structure, two 1,10-phenanthroline mol-ecules are linked together by one dithio-oxamide via inter-molecular N-H?N hydrogen bonds.
