The two O and two S atoms are mutually cis to each other. The Ni-S and Ni-O bond lengths lie within the range of those found in related structures. The two O and two S atoms are mutually cis to each other. The Cu-S and Cu-O bond lengths lie within the ranges of those found in related structures. 3-Benzoyl-1,1-dibenzyl-thio-urea.

Project description:Two independent thio-urea mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(22)H(20)N(2)OS. The central N-C(=S)N(H)C(=O) atoms in each mol-ecule are virtually superimposable and each is twisted [C-N-C-S torsion angles = 121.3?(3) and -62.3?(4)°]. The mol-ecules differ only in terms of the relative orientations of the benzyl benzene rings [major difference between the C-N-C-C torsion angles of -146.6?(3) and -132.9?(3)°]. The presence of N-H?S hydrogen bonding leads to the formation of supra-molecular chains along the a axis. These are consolidated in the crystal packing by C-H?O inter-actions. The crystal was found to be a combined non-merohedral and racemic twin (twin law 00/00/001), with the fractional contribution of the minor components being approximately 9 and 28%.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title com-pound, [Ni(NCS)2(CH3CN)2(C12H9NO)2] or Ni(NCS)2(4-benzoyl-pyridine)2(aceto-nitrile)2, the NiII ions are octa-hedrally coordinated by the N atoms of two thio-cyanate anions, two 4-benzoyl-pyridine ligands and two aceto-nitrile mol-ecules into discrete com-plexes that are located on centres of inversion. In the crystal, the discrete com-plexes are linked by centrosymmetric pairs of weak C-H⋯S hydrogen bonds into chains. Thermogravimetric measurements prove that, upon heating, the title com-plex loses the two aceto-nitrile ligands and transforms into a new crystalline modification of the chain com-pound [Ni(NCS)2(4-benzoyl-pyridine)2], which is different from that of the corresponding CoII, NiII and CdII coordination polymers reported in the literature. IR spectroscopic investigations indicate the presence of bridging thio-cyanate anions but the powder pattern cannot be indexed and, therefore, this structure is unknown.

In the crystal structure, the molecules are linked into a three-dimensional network via C-H?O, C-H?N, N-H?O, N-H?S and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ni(NCS)2(C12H9NO)2(CH3OH)2]·CH3OH, comprises one NiII cation, two thio-cyanate anions, two 4-benzoyl-pyridine coligands, two coordinating, as well as one non-coordinating methanol mol-ecule. The NiII cation is coordinated by two terminally N-bonded thio-cyanate anions, the N atoms of two 4-benzoyl-pyridine coligands and the O atoms of two methanol ligands within a slightly distorted octa-hedron. Individual complexes are linked by inter-molecular O-H?S hydrogen bonding into chains parallel to [010] that are further connected into layers parallel to (10) by C-H?S hydrogen bonds. Additional C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions lead to the formation of a three-dimensional network that limits channels extending parallel to [010] in which the non-coordinating methanol mol-ecules are located. They are hydrogen-bonded to the coordinating methanol mol-ecules. X-ray powder diffraction revealed that the compound could not be prepared as a pure phase.

The equatorial plane is formed by two O atoms from two symmetry-related 2-benzoyl-benzoate ligands and two N atoms from two symmetry-related imidazole ligands, whereas the axial positions are occupied by two O atoms from two ethanol ligands. Intramolecular O---H...O hydrogen bonds stabilize this arrangement. The mol-ecules are linked into chains running along the b axis by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title complex, [Ni(NCS)2(C6H6N2O)2(H2O)2], the Ni(II) ion is located on an inversion center and is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral environment by two N atoms from two nicotinamide ligands and two water mol-ecules in the equatorial plane, and two N atoms from two thio-cyanate anions in the axial positions, all acting as monodentate ligands. In the crystal, weak N-H?S hydrogen bonds between the amino groups and the thio-cyanate anions form an R 4 (2)(8) motif. The complex mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O, O-H?S, and N-H?S hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. Weak ?-? inter-actions between the pyridine rings is also found [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8578?(14)?Å].

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Ni(C16H14N3OS)2], the nickel ion is tetra-coordinated in a distorted square-planar geometry by two independent mol-ecules of the ligand which act as mononegative bidentate N,S-donors and form two five-membered chelate rings. The ligands are in trans (E) conformations with respect to the C=N bonds. The close approach of hydrogen atoms to the Ni(2+) atom suggests anagostic inter-actions (Ni?H-C) are present. The crystal structure is built up by a network of two C-H?O inter-actions. One of the inter-actions forms inversion dimers and the other links the mol-ecules into infinite chains parallel to [100]. In addition, a weak C-H?? inter-action is also present.
