(S)-1-Methoxy-carbonyl-2-(4-nitro-phen-yl)ethanaminium chloride.

ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(10)H(13)N(2)O(4) (+)·Cl(-), comprises a Cl(-) anion and a protonated aminium cation. The crystal packing is stabilized by cation-anion N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, building an infinite two-dimensional network parallel to the (001) plane. The S absolute configuration at the chiral center was deduced from the synthetic pathway and confirmed by the X-ray analysis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(17)H(17)N(2)O(2) (+)·Cl(-)·H(2)O, contains one-half of the cation, one-half of a water mol-ecule and a chloride anion. The complete cation is generated by crystallographic two-fold symmetry, with one C atom lying on the rotation axis. The O and Cl atoms have site symmetry 2. Project description:Crystals of the title compound, C(15)H(15)N(3)O(3), were obtained from a condensation reaction of 4-nitro-phenyl-hydrazine and 3-methoxy-acetophenone. In the crystal structure, the methoxy-phenyl ring is twisted slightly with respect to the nitro-phenyl-hydrazine plane, making a dihedral angle of 14.81?(8)°. The nitro and meth-oxy groups are each coplanar with the attached benzene rings. The nitro-phenyl and methoxy-phenyl groups are located on opposite sides of the C=N double bond, indicating an E configuration of the mol-ecule. Adjacent mol-ecules are linked together via N-H?O hydrogen bonding, forming chains along the [101] direction.

Project description:In the title hydrated mol-ecular salt, C6H16NO(+)·C10H5N4O7 (-)·1.5H2O [systematic name: N,N-diethyl-2-hy-droxy-ethan-am-in-ium 5-(2,4-di-nitro-phen-yl)-2,6-di-oxo-1,2,3,6-tetra-hydro-pyrim-idin-4-olate sesquihydrate], the dihedral angle between the six-membered rings in the anion is 37.66?(11)°. The nitro groups ortho and para to the ring junction are rotated from their attached ring by 40.8?(3) and 23.5?(3)°, respectively. The ethanol group is disordered over two of the 'arms' of the cation in a statistical ratio. In the crystal, [010] chains of anions occur, linked by N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which generate R 2 (2)(8) loops. Further N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. One of the water O atoms lies near an inversion centre and is 50% occupied.
