ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cd(C(10)H(8)N(2))(3)](ClO(4))(2)·0.5H(2)O, consists of one complex [Cd(bpy)(3)](2+) cation (bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine), two perchlorate anions and one water molecule with half-occupancy. The central cadmium(II) ion is bound to six N atoms from three bpy ligands in a distorted octa-hedral coordination, with Cd-N bond distances ranging from 2.304?(3) to 2.395?(2)?Å.

Project description:In the cation of the title compound, [CoCl(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]ClO(4), the Co(II) atom displays a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination geometry. The two pyridine rings in each 2,2'-bipyridine ligand form dihedral angles of 10.75 (12) and 4.28 (13)°. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-ionic C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, C-H⋯π inter-actions and aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions, with centroid-centroid distances of 3.616 (7) Å.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear mol-ecule of the title compound, [Cd(2)(C(14)H(8)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Cd(2+) ion is coordinated by three O atoms from two different diphenyl-dicarboxyl-ate (dpa) ligands (one O,O'-bidentate and one monodentate), a chelating bipyridine ligand and a water mol-ecule, generating an extremely distorted trigonal-prismatic (or irregular) CdN(2)O(4) coordination geometry for the metal ion. The bridging ligands generate an 18-membered ring, which is stabilized by two pairs of intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The unit cell of the title compound, [Mn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·C(10)H(8)N(2), consists of a binuclear cation, two perchlor-ate anions, and one solvent 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) mol-ecule. In the complex cation [Mn(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)N(2)H(8))(4)](2+), two Mn(II) atoms are bridged by a bis-(bidentate) oxalate ligand, each Mn(II) atom being further coordinated by two bpy ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The distance between the two six-coordinated metal atoms is 5.583?(1)?Å. ?-? stacking inter-actions [inter-planar distances between bpy rings = 3.739?(1)?Å] are essential to the supramolecular assembly. There are extensive inter-ionic C-H?O inter-actions between the cations and between the cation and anion. Three of the four perchlorate O atoms are disordered over two sets of sites with occupancy ratios of 0.852?(6):0.148?(6).

The asymmetric unit contains the cadmium complex, half a 2,2'-bipyridine solvent mol-ecule and a solvent water mol-ecule. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two N atoms from an HBTA(-) anion ligand [where H(2)BTA is N,N-bis-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)amine], forming an octa-hedral geometry. The complex is linked into a three-dimensional network by O-H?N and N-H?N hydrogen bonds and by the stacking inter-actions of rings, with distances of 3.5-3.7?Å between the atoms of two parallel 2,2'-bipyridine rings.

In the crystal, mol-ecules are assembled by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and π-π inter-actions between bipy groups [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7686 (16) and 3.7002 (16) Å] into a three-dimensional network. Project description:In the structure of the title compound, [Cd(C(9)H(7)N(2)O(2)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], the complex mol-ecules are located on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis and the Cd(II) ion is octa-hedrally coordinated by two chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two O atoms from the carboxyl-ate groups of two 2-(benzimidazol-2-ylsulfan-yl)acetate ligands. The two carboxyl-ate ligands adopt a cis configuration with respect to each other. Within each of these ligands, the imidazole fragments are bent back in a loop towards the acetyl groups, forming intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which help to stablilize the mononuclear complex. Adjacent mol-ecules are further linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in a chain along the c axis.
