Aqua-bis(2,2'-bipyridine-?N,N')(1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ato-?O)nickel(II) 1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ate dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The hydro-thermal reaction of Ni(2)(OH)(2)CO(3) with 2,2'-bipyridine and 2-indolyl-formic acid in CH(3)OH/H(2)O at 423?K for 7?d produced the novel Ni(II) complex [Ni(C(9)H(6)NO(2))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)](C(9)H(6)NO(2))·2H(2)O. The asymmetric unit of the title compound consists of a monovalent [Ni(L)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)](+) cation (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and L is 1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ate), an L anion and two solvent water mol-ecules. In the [Ni(L)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)](+) cations, the Ni atom coordinates to four N atoms from the two bpy ligands and two O atoms, one from a L anion and the other from a water mol-ecule to complete an significantly distorted NiN(4)O(2) octa-hedron. The coordinated and solvate water mol-ecules form an extensive series of O-H?O hydrogen bonds. N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds are also present and the mol-ecules are inter-linked, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(12)H(6)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, obtained from a basic solution of 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxyl-ate and nickel(II) chloride in water, the central Ni(II) cation (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by two N atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine-5,5'-dicarboxyl-ate ligand and four aqua O atoms. The N-Ni-N angle is 78.64?(8)°. Weak but significant ?-? stacking inter-actions exist between the pyridine rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.652?(8)?Å. Project description:The asymmetric unit of title compound, [Cd(C(9)H(6)NO(2))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2)·2H(2)O, consists of one complex mol-ecule, one half of an uncoordinated 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule and two solvent water mol-ecules. The uncoordinated 2,2'-bipyridine mol-ecule is located on a center of symmetry. Within the complex mol-ecule, the Cd(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and three O atoms from two 1H-indole-2-carboxyl-ate anion ligands, completing a distorted CdN(4)O(3) penta-gonal bipyra-mid. The mol-ecules are assembled into one-dimensional chains along the [100] direction through classical hydrogen bonds (O-H?N, N-H?O and O-H?O). The resulting chains are further connected into two-dimensional supra-molecular layers parallel to the (110) direction by inter-molecular classical hydrogen bonds (N-H?O and O-H?O) from adjacent chains. A three-dimensional supra-molecular network is formed via interlayer and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:The title six-coordinated distorted octa-hedral complex, [Cu(C(6)H(3)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))]·2H(2)O, consists of two 3-carboxy-pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate anions and one 2,2'-bipyridine ligand. There is a twofold rotation axis positioned at the Cu(II) center. The N atoms of the pyrazine ring occupy the axial positions and two proton-transferred O atoms of tbe acid together with the two N atoms of the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand complete the equatorial plane. The inter-actions existing in the crystal structure are inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and C-H⋯O and C-O⋯π inter-actions (O⋯π =3.145 Å, C-O⋯π = 149.75°).

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, {[Cu(C(6)H(2)O(5))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O}(n), an infinite chain parallel to [110] is formed by the linking of Cu(H(2)O)(2,2'-bipyridine) units through a furan-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate bridge. The Cu(II) atom shows a square-pyramidal geometry, with one furan-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate O atom in the apical position. The dihedral angle between the planes of the furan ring and the bipyridine mol-ecule is 83.88?(7)°. O(water)-H?O hydrogen bonds connect adjacent chains, generating a layer motif parallel to (001).

Project description:The title compound, [CrF(3)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O, was prepared by the reaction of CrF(3) and 2,2'-bipyridine under hydrous conditions. The metal centre is coordinated in a distorted octahedral mode by two N atoms from the organic ligand, three F atoms and one O atom of a water molecule. . The crystal packing is stabilized by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯F hydrogen-bonding contacts, which form a one-dimensional belt extending parallel to (100).

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(5)H(3)O(2)S)(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal environment, with an Addison ? parameter of 0.07. The coordination geometry is defined by two nitro-gen donors from the 2,2'-bipyridine ligand, two O atoms from two monodentate thio-phene-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and one O atom from the aqua ligand. The latter occupies the elongated apical position. This is different from the related structure of aqua-(1,10-phenanthroline)bis-(thio-phene-2-carboxyl-ato)copper(II) where a carboxyl-ate O atom is in the apical position [Feng et al. (2005 ?). Z. Kristallogr. New Cryst. Struct.220, 429-430]. The uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms form intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonds to the aqua ligand. Two neighbouring 2,2'-bipyridine ligands form a ?-stack, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.683?(2)?Å.

The complete dianionic ligand is generated by crystallographic twofold symmetry. The tetra-carboxyl-ate ligand mol-ecules connect the Zn(II) atoms, completing a three-dimensional metal-organic framework. O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the metal-organic framework with the uncoord-inated water mol-ecules.
