Catena-Poly[[[N,N'-bis-(3-methoxy-benzyl-idene)ethyl-enediamine]copper(I)]-?-thio-cyanato-?N:S].


ABSTRACT: In the cyrstal structure of the title compound, [Cu(NCS)(C(18)H(20)N(2)O(2))](n), the Cu(I) atom is coordinated in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry by two imino N atoms from a bidentate chelating Schiff base ligand, and one N and one S atoms from two thio-cyanate anions. The thio-cyanate anion bridges the Cu(I) atoms, forming a zigzag chain along [101]. The Schiff base ligand adopts an E,E configuration and the dihedral angle between the terminal benzene rings is 53.68?(8)°.
