ABSTRACT: In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Ni(N(3))(2)(C(12)H(12)N(2))(2)]·H(2)O, the Ni(II) atom is situated on a twofold axis and adopts a distorted octa-hedral geometry with the two 5,5'-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridyl (dmbpy) and the two azide ligands in a cis arrangement. The water solvent mol-ecule is disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(2)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(4)](ClO(4))(2)·2C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O, contains doubly charged centrosymmetric dinuclear oxalato-bridged copper(II) complex cations, perchlorate anions, and DMF and water solvate mol-ecules. In the complex cation, the oxalate ligand is coordinated in a bis-bidentate bridging mode to the Cu atoms. Each Cu atom has a distorted tetra-gonal-bipyramidal environment, being coordinated by two N atoms of the two chelating bipy ligands and two O atoms of the doubly deprotonated oxalate anion. Pairs of perchlorate anions and water mol-ecules are linked into recta-ngles by O-H?O bonds in which the perchlorate O atoms act as acceptors and the water mol-ecules as donors. Methyl groups of the DMF solvent molecule are disordered over two sites with occupancies of 0.453?(7):0.547?(7), and the water molecule is half-occupied.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(C(2)HN(9))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2)·H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal reaction conditions. The asymmetric unit contains the cadmium complex, half a 2,2'-bipyridine solvent mol-ecule and a solvent water mol-ecule. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two N atoms from an HBTA(-) anion ligand [where H(2)BTA is N,N-bis-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)amine], forming an octa-hedral geometry. The complex is linked into a three-dimensional network by O-H?N and N-H?N hydrogen bonds and by the stacking inter-actions of rings, with distances of 3.5-3.7?Å between the atoms of two parallel 2,2'-bipyridine rings.

The amine groups are N-H?O hydrogen bonded to the nitrate anions, which are, in turn, linked by inter-stitial water mol-ecules lying on a twofold axis. The infinite zigzag chains thus formed along [001] are further connected to each other by N-H?O hydrogen bonds towards the water mol-ecules, forming layers of two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded arrays.
