ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(14)H(11)N(3)O(3)·CH(4)O, was synthesized by the condensation reaction of isonicotinohydrazide with an equimolar quantity of 2-formyl-benzoic acid in methanol. The hydrazone mol-ecule displays an E configuration about the C=N bond. The dihedral angel between the pyridine and the benzene rings is 12.04?(5)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N, O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C15H13NO4·CH3OH, the Schiff base molecule exists in the zwitterionic form; an intramolecular N—H?O hydrogen bond stabilizes the molecular structure. The benzene rings are nearly co-planar, subtending a dihedral angle of 5.34?(2)°. In the crystal, classical O—H?O and weak C—H?O hydrogen bonds link the Schiff base molecules and methanol solvent molecules into a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture. The crystal studied was refined as an inversion twin.

Project description:The title compound, 3C(10)H(8)N(4)·2C(7)H(6)O(5)·2CH(4)O, has a mol-ecular crystal structure which results from the cocrystallization of gallic acid (GA), 4,4'-azodipyridine (AzPy) and methanol in a 2:3:2 molar ratio. The asymmetric unit comprises one molecule each of GA, AzPy and methanol in general positions and half a molecule of AzPy as this is located about a centre of inversion. In the crystal, all the components of the structure are associated via the extended system of hydrogen bonds (O-H?O and O-H?N) and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.637?(3)?Å] into two-dimensional supra-molecular layers which are packed parallel to the [101] plane. The shortest perpendicular distance and the slippage between aromatic groups are 3.395?(3) and 2.152?(3)?Å, respectively. The AzPy mol-ecules display a trans conformation with respect to the azo groups.

Project description:The title compound, C22H17NO2·C3H7NO, was synthesized by condensation of an aromatic aldehyde with a secondary amine and subsequent reduction. It was crystallized from a di-methyl-formamide solution as a monosolvate, C22H17NO2·C3H7NO. The aromatic mol-ecule is non-planar with a dihedral angle between the mean planes of the aniline moiety and the methyl anthracene moiety of 81.36?(8)°. The torsion angle of the Car-yl-CH2-NH-Car-yl backbone is 175.9?(2)°. The crystal structure exhibits a three-dimensional supra-molecular network, resulting from hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the carb-oxy-lic OH group and the solvent O atom as well as between the amine functionality and the O atom of the carb-oxy-lic group and additional C-H?? inter-actions. Hirshfeld surface analysis was performed to qu-antify the inter-molecular inter-actions.
