ABSTRACT: The title Pb(II) coordination polymer, [PbCl(2)(C(13)H(14)N(2))], was prepared by the hydro-thermal reaction of PbCl(2) with 4,4,-trimethyl-enedipyridine in a 1:1 ratio. It exhibits a two-dimensional layered structural motif consisting of PbCl(2) chains and the flexible bridged 4,4'-trimethyl-enedipyridine ligand. The connections result in a cavity of about 4 × 15?Å.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the polymeric title compound, {(C21H19N2)[HgCl3]} n , comprises one-half of the cationic mol-ecule, the other half being generated by application of twofold rotation symmetry, one Hg and two Cl atoms. The Hg(II) atom, lying on a twofold rotation axis, exhibits a distorted triangular coordination environment and is surrounded by three Cl atoms with Hg-Cl distances in the range 2.359?(2)-2.4754?(13)?Å. Two additional longer distances [Hg?Cl = 3.104?(14)?Å] lead to the formation of polymeric [HgCl1/1Cl4/2](-) chains extending along [001]. The crystal packing can be described by cationic layers alternating parallel to (-110) with the anionic chains located between the layers. The packing is consolidated by ?-? stacking inter-actions between the benzene rings of the central benzimidazole entities, with centroid-to-centroid distances of 3.643?(3)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, [Pb(4)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(3)Cl(2)](n), consists of a three-dimensional inorganic-organic hybrid framework. The asymmetric unit contains two Pb(2+) cations, one Cl(-) anion and one and a half terephthalate anions, the latter being completed by inversion symmetry. The two Pb(2+) cations are each surrounded by five O atoms and one Cl atom in the form of irregular polyhedra. The cations are linked by ?(2)-O and ?(2)-Cl atoms into binuclear units, which are further extended through Pb-O inter-actions into an undulated inorganic layer parallel to (001). These layers are connected along [001] by the terephthalate groups into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:The title compound, [PbCl(2)(C(17)H(9)NO(3))](n), was synthesized by the hydro-thermal reaction of PbCl(2) and liriodenine. The lead(II) atom has a distorted octa-hedral environment made up of the O and N atoms of the liriodenine ligand [Pb-O 2.666?(4)?Å, Pb-N 2.587?(5)?Å, O-Pb-N 61.78?(14)°] and four bridging chloro ligands, which link the complex mol-ecules into infinite chains along the a axis. Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.

Project description:The reaction of lead(II) nitrate and benzoic acid in aqueous solution yields the title polymer, [Pb(C(7)H(5)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n). The asymmetric unit contains one Pb(II) ion, two benzoate ligands and one water mol-ecule. The Pb-O bond distances are in the range 2.494 (4)-2.735 (4) Å. The Pb⋯Pb distance is 4.0683 (4) Å, indicating an insignificant metal-metal inter-action. The Pb(II) atom has a distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal geometry chelated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb atoms are bridged through a coordinating water mol-ecule and two carboxyl-ate O atoms from another two benzoate ligands, giving an infinite three-dimensional supra-molecular structure. O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involved the coordinating water and carboxyl-ate O atoms enhance the stability of the supra-molecular arrangement.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Hg(2)Cl(4)(C(6)H(12)N(2))](n), each Hg(II) center within the chain is four-coordinated by one terminal Cl atom, two bridging μ(2)-Cl atoms, and one N-atom donor from a μ(2)-1,4-diaza-bicyclo-[2.2.2]octane (μ(2)-daco) ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The daco ligand acts as an end-to-end bridging ligand and bridges adjacent Hg(II) centers, forming a chain running along [001]. Weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions link the chains into a three-dimensional network. Comparison of the structural differences with previous findings suggests that the space between the two N donors, as well as the skeletal rigidity in N-heterocyclic linear ligands, may play an important role in the construction of such supra-molecular networks.
