(2-Acetyl-phenolato)(2,2'-bipyridine)nitratocopper(II).

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Cu(C(8)H(7)O(2))(NO(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))], the Cu(II) ion is five-coordinate in a distorted square-pyramidal geometry. The basal positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two O atoms from the 2-acetyl-phenolate anion. The axial position is occupied by one O atom of a nitrate anion. In the bipyridine ligand, the two pyridine rings are slightly twisted by an angle of 3.5?(1)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(7)O(3))(C(10)H(8)N(2))]ClO(4), the Ni(II) atom is in a slightly distorted square-planar coordination by two N atoms from the 2,2'-bipyridine (bipy) ligand and two O atoms from the deprotonated 2-formyl-6-methoxy-phenolate (mbd) ligand. The bipy ligand is nearly coplanar with the Ni(II) square plane, the Ni atom being only 0.042?(2)?Å from the mean plane, whereas the benzaldehyde plane is folded with respect to the square plane, making a dihedral angle of 19.17?(8)°. One of the O atoms of the perchlorate anion is involved in a weak inter-action with the Ni atom, with an Ni-O distance of 2.5732?(18)?Å. The packing is stabilized by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:The title complex, [Cd(C(2)HN(9))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)]·0.5C(10)H(8)N(2)·H(2)O, was prepared under hydro-thermal reaction conditions. The asymmetric unit contains the cadmium complex, half a 2,2'-bipyridine solvent mol-ecule and a solvent water mol-ecule. The Cd(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two 2,2'-bipyridine ligands and two N atoms from an HBTA(-) anion ligand [where H(2)BTA is N,N-bis-(1H-tetra-zol-5-yl)amine], forming an octa-hedral geometry. The complex is linked into a three-dimensional network by O-H⋯N and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds and by the stacking inter-actions of rings, with distances of 3.5-3.7 Å between the atoms of two parallel 2,2'-bipyridine rings.

The disulfanediyldibenzo-ate dianion bridges two Ni(II )atoms. Project description:The title compound, [Cu(2)(C(14)H(8)O(4))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)], was obtained by solvothermal synthesis. The Cu(II) atom is coordinated by one chelating 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two carboxyl groups from different biphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxyl-ate ligands, leading to a distorted octahedral environment. Each carboxyl-ate group makes one short Cu-O bond [1.9608 (14) and 1.9701 (14) Å] and one longer Cu-O contact [2.4338 (17) and 2.5541 (17) Å] to each Cu(II) atom. The biphenyl-2,2'-dicarboxyl-ate ligands bridge between Cu(II) atoms, forming a dinuclear complex around a crystallographic inversion centre.

Longer Co-O contacts [2.437 (3) and 2.552 (3) Å] are formed to the second O atom of each coordinated carboxyl-ate group so that these groups approximate a bidentate coordination mode and the coordination geometry around Co(II) approaches distorted octa-hedral. The 2,2'-dpa ligands bridge two Co(II) atoms, forming a cyclic dinuclear complex around a centre of inversion.
