Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(6)H(6)Cl(2)N(+)·C(6)H(4)ClO(3)S(-)·H(2)O, contains two 2,4-dichloro-anilinium cations, two 4-chloro-phenyl-sulfonate anions and two water mol-ecules. The three H atoms of the positively charged NH(3) group have two O atoms of the negatively charged sulfonate anion and one O atom of the water mol-ecule as acceptors. Similarly, the two H atoms of the water mol-ecule have two O atoms of two different negatively charged sulfonate anions as acceptors. Further, one of the O atoms of the sulfonate anion is involved in simultaneous hydrogen bonds with two H atoms, one from the positively charged NH(3) group and the other from the water mol-ecule. In the crystal, mol-ecules are packed into a layer structure through N-H?O(S), N-H?O(H(2)O) and N-H?O(S)?H-O(H(2)O) (three-centre) hydrogen bonding, the chains running along the c axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, K(+)·C(6)H(3)BrCl(2)NO(2)S(-)·1.5H(2)O, contains one K(+) cation, one N-bromo-2,4-dichlorobenzenesulfonamidate anion, one water molecule in general position and one water molecule located on a twofold rotation axis. The K(+) cation is hepta-coordinated by three water O atoms and four sulfonyl O atoms from three symmetry-related N-bromo-2,4-dichloro-benzene-sulfonamide anions. The S=N distance of 1.575?(3)?Å is consistent with that of a double bond. In the crystal, the anions are linked by O-H?Br and O-H?N hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the ac plane.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C(13)H(8)Cl(2)O(2), resembles those of 2,3-dichloro-phenyl benzoate, 2,4-dimethyl-phenyl benzoate and other aryl benzoates, with similar bond parameters. The plane of central -C(=O)-O- group is inclined at the angle of 9.1 (2)° with respect to the benzoate ring. The two aromatic rings make a dihedral angle of 47.8 (1)°. Project description:The title compound, C13H10N2O7S, was synthesized via a nucleophilic substitution reaction between 2,4-di-nitro-phenol and p-toluene-sulfonyl chloride. This crystal structure is a polymorph of CSD entry WUVYUH [Vembu et al. (2003). Acta Cryst, E59, o378-380]. The aromatic substituents on the sulfonate group are oriented gauche to one another with a C-O-S-C torsion angle of -62.0 (3)°. The supra-molecular features that contribute to the crystal stability are offset π-π [centroid-centroid distance = 3.729 (2) Å] and multiple C-H⋯O inter-actions.
