Tetra-guanidinium bis-[citrato(3-)]cuprate(II) dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (CH(6)N(3))(4)[Cu(C(6)H(5)O(7))(2)]·2H(2)O, contains one-half of a centrosymmetric Cu(II) complex anion, two guanidinium cations and a water mol-ecule. The Cu(II) ion, lying on a crystallographic inversion center, is hexa-coordinated with two citrate anions in a distorted octahedral geometry. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into a three-dimensional framework by inter-molecular N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The Cu(II) ion occupies a crystallographic inversion centre. In the cation, the dihedral angles between the phenyl rings and the plane defined by the central guanidinium fragment are in the range 51.9 (4)-64.4 (3)°. N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds assemble the ions into infinite chains running along the b axis.

Project description:In the structure of the title salt, (C5H14N3)2[CuCl4], the Cu(II) atom in the anion lies on a twofold rotation axis. The tetra-chlorido-cuprate(II) anion adopts a flattened tetra-hedral coordination environment and inter-acts electrostatically with the tetra-methyl-guanidinium cation. The crystal packing is additionally consolidated through N-H⋯Cl and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds, resulting in a three-dimensional network structure.

The [HgI(4)](2-) ions are inter-connected to the [C(NH(2))(3)](+) ions by N-H?I hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(14)N)(2)[CuCl(4)], consists of two inequivalent 1-methyl-piperidinium cations and a flattened tetra-hedral [CuCl(4)](2-) anion. Each organic cation exhibits a chair conformation with the methyl group in the equatorial position. They are segregated into alternating layers parallel to (100) and stacked along [100]. Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C(6)H(9)N(2))(2)[CuBr(4)], the geometry around the Cu atom is inter-mediate between tetra-hedral (T(d)) and square planar (D(4h)). Each [CuBr(4)](2-) anion is connected non-symmetrically to four surrounding cations through N-H?X (pyridine and amine proton) hydrogen bonds, forming chains of the ladder-type running parallel to the crystallographic b axis. These layers are further connected by means of offset face-to-face inter-actions (parallel to the a axis), giving a three-dimensional network. Cation ?-? stacking [centroid separations of 3.69?(9) and 3.71?(1)?Å] and Br?aryl inter-actions [3.72?(2) and 4.04?(6)?Å] are present in the crystal structure. There are no inter-molecular Br?Br inter-actions.
