Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ir(C9H7)(C2H4)2], consists of two independent mol-ecules. The bonding between iridium and the five-membered ring of the indenyl ligand shows the usual asymmetry associated with the typical ring slippage responsible for the enhanced activity of indenyl metal compounds when compared with the analogous cyclo-penta-dienyl metal compound. There are three short Ir-C bonds of 2.210?(3), 2.190?(4) and 2.220?(3)?Å and two long Ir-C bonds to the C atoms that are part of the fused six-membered ring of 2.349?(4) and 2.366?(3)?Å for one of the independent mol-ecules [2.208?(4), 2.222?(3), 2.197?(4)?Å for the short distances and 2.371?(3) and 2.358?(3)?Å for the long distances in the second mol-ecule]. This results in both indenyl ligands being slightly kinked, with dihedral angles of 6.8?(4)° and 6.5?(4)°.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ir(C(11)H(8)N)(2)(C(12)H(10)NO)(H(2)O)]·0.5C(2)H(6)O(2), the iridium center is coordinated by two N atoms and two C atoms from two 2-(2-pyrid-yl)phenyl (ppy) ligands, one N atom from the N-(1-naphth-yl)acetamide ligand and one water O atom, forming a distorted octa-hedral environment. Mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds formed by the coordinated water mol-ecule and the amide O atom of the N-(1-naphth-yl)acetamide ligands.

Project description:In the title mol-ecule, C(22)H(23)O(4)PSe, the P atom has a distorted tetra-hedral environment formed by the selenide atom [P=Se = 2.1219?(5)?Å] and three aryl rings. The orientations of the meth-oxy groups in the two 2,4-dimeth-oxy-phenyl ligands are distinct, as seen from the torsion angles: C-C-O-C = 14.7?(3) and 175.97?(17)° in one ligand, and -9.1?(2) and 5.1?(3)° in the other. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H?Se inter-actions link the mol-ecules into zigzag chains propagated in [010].

Project description:The intermolecular enantioselective C-H functionalization with acceptor-only metallocarbenes is reported using a new family of Ir(iii)-bis(imidazolinyl)phenyl catalysts, developed based on the interplay of experimental and computational insights. The reaction is tolerant of a variety of diazoacetate precursors and is found to be heavily influenced by the steric and electronic properties of the substrate. Phthalan and dihydrofuran derivatives are functionalized in good yields and excellent enantioselectivities.

Project description:The title compound, bis-(1,2-diphenyl-2-sulfanyl-idene-ethane-thiol-ato-?2 S,S')(1,3,5-tri-aza-7-phosphaadamantane-?P)cobalt(II) dichloromethane hemisolvate, [Co(pdt)2(PTA)]·0.5C2H4Cl2 or [Co(C14H10S2)2(C6H12N3P)]·0.5C2H4Cl2, contains two phenyl-dithiol-ene (pdt) ligands and a 1,3,5-tri-aza-7-phosphaadamantane (PTA) ligand bound to cobalt with the solvent 1,2-di-chloro-ethane mol-ecule located on an inversion center. The cobalt core exhibits an approximately square-pyramidal geometry with partially reduced thienyl radical monoanionic ligands. The supra-molecular network is consolidated by hydrogen-bonding inter-actions primarily with nitro-gen, sulfur and chlorine atoms, as well as parallel displaced ?-stacking of the aryl rings. The UV-vis, IR, and CV data are also consistent with monoanionic di-thiol-ene ligands and an overall CoII oxidation state.

The mol-ecule lies on a twofold rotation axis that passes through the middle of this bond as well as through the bridging dimethyl sulfide ligand. The Nb(III) ion exists in an octa-hedral coordination environment defined by two terminal and two bridging Cl atoms, and (CH(3))(2)Se/(CH(3))(2)S ligands. The (bridging) ligand lying on the twofold rotation axis is an ordered (CH(3))(2)S ligand, whereas the terminal ones on a general position are a mixture of (CH(3))(2)Se and (CH(3))(2)S ligands in a 0.647?(2):0.353?(2) ratio (the methyl C atoms are also disordered).

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Co(NO2)2(NH2CH2CH2NH2)2][Co(NO2)4(NH2CH2CH2NH2)]·H2O, was redetermined with a modern CCD-equipped diffractometer. In comparison with the original determination based on photographic data [Kushi et al. (1976 ?). Inorg. Nucl. Chem. Lett. 12, 629-633], the current study allows the location of reliable postions for the H atoms and thus leads to better understanding of the inter-ionic and inter-molecular inter-actions. The crystal structure consists of an octa-hedrally coordinated cationic Co(III) complex ion, an octa-hedrally coordinated anionic Co(III) complex ion and a lattice water mol-ecule. The complex cation, complex anion and lattice water mol-ecule are connected by an intricate network of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure.

In the crystal structure, the anions, cations and water mol-ecules are connected via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network. The fumarate anion and the N,N'-bis-(2-hydroxy-ethyl)-N,N'-[ethyl-enedioxy-bis(o-phenyl-enemethylene)]diammonium cation are located on centers of inversion, whereas the two crystallographically independent water mol-ecules occupy general positions.
