ABSTRACT: In the mol-ecule of the title compound, C(11)H(12)O(2), the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a half-chair conformation. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked into centrosymmetric dimers by pairs of O-H?O hydrogen bonds, and the dimers are linked together by ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8310?(13)?Å] and C-H?O bonds.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, C(18)H(26)O(2), were grown from ethyl acetate. Due to the racemic precursor, the title compound is also obtained as a racemate. Disorder was observed during structure refinement, originating from two possible half-chair conformations of the non-aromatic ring. The disorder was refined by introducing split positions in the cyclo-hexane ring regarding the two possible R and S-enantiomers at the chiral CH group [ratio 0.744?(3):0.256?(3)]. The crystal structure features pairs of inversion-related molecules connected by pairs of non-classical C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

There are no classical hydrogen bonds in the crystal structure. Mol-ecules form mol-ecular layers parallel to (100) with a distance between the layers of a/2 = 3.468?Å.

Project description:The title racemate, C(11)H(14)O(3), aggregates in the crystal structure as acid-to-ketone O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding catemers whose components are glide-related. The relative stereochemistry at the carboxyl group arises spontaneously during the synthesis. Two inter-molecular C-H⋯O=C close contacts were found, both involving the acid group.

Project description:The title compound, C(14)H(6)O(7)·C(10)H(8)N(2), has been hydro-thermally synthesized. Structural ananlysis indicates that the crystals are produced by cocrystallization of naphthalene-1,4,5,8-tetra-carboxylic acid 1,8-anhydride and 4,4'-bipyridine (bpy) mol-ecules. The crystal packing is stabilized by inter-molecular O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5846 (9) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C(9)H(11)NO·0.5H(2)O, the asymmetric unit contains two similar mol-ecules of 5,6,7,8-tetra-hydro-quinoline 1-oxide and one water mol-ecule. The water mol-ecule links the two O atoms of both independent N-oxides into dimers via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network along [101], which is additionally stabilized by weak C-H?O inter-molecular inter-actions. In each mol-ecule, the saturated six-membered rings exist in a conformation inter-mediate between a half-chair and sofa.

Project description:In the title compound, C(10)H(10)N(4)O(4)·0.5H(2)O, the two rings of the pteridine system are nearly coplanar [dihedral angle = 4.25?(9)°]. The atoms of the carboxyl group are also coplanar with the pteridine unit [r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of the pteridine skeleton = 0.092?(2)?Å]. In the crystal, the presence of the water molecule of crystallization (O atom site symmetry 2) leads to a hydrogen-bonding pattern different from the one shown by many carboxylic acid compounds (dimers formed through O-H?O hydrogen bonds between neighbouring carboxyl groups): in the present structure, the water mol-ecule, which lies on a binary axis, acts as a bridge between two mol-ecules, forming a hydrogen-bonded dimer. In addition to the hydrogen bonds, there are ?-? ring stacking inter-actions involving the pyrimidine and pyrazine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.689?(1)Å], and two different pyrazine rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.470?(1)Å]. Finally, there is a C-O?? contact involving a carboxyl-ate C-O and the pyrimidine ring with a short O?Cg distance of 2.738?(2)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, C(17)H(24)O(2), is the product of a haloform reaction of 6-acetyl-1,1,2,4,4,7-hexa-methyl-tetra-line (AHTN). The compound is a racemic mixture with a disorder in its aliphatic ring [occupany ratio 0.683?(4):0.317?(4)] due to two possible half-chair forms. The carb-oxy-lic acid unit is slightly twisted out of coplanarity with the aromatic system [dihedral angle = 29.26?(6)°]. In the crystal, pairs of short classical inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link pairs of mol-ecules around a center of symmetry.

Project description:In the search for cancer chemopreventive agents, we have studied the Diels-Alder reaction of trans-communic acid with tetra-cyano-ethyl-ene in the presence of SiO(2) as catalyst. The title cycloadduct, C(26)H(30)N(4)O(2), was obtained in 75% yield. The mol-ecules are arranged in pairs through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming an R(2) (2)(8) ring motif. Both the fused cyclohexyl rings adopt a chair conformation, whereas the nonfused ring adopts a half-chair conformation.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(14)H(14)O(3), contains two fused six-membered carbon rings with keto groups at positions 1, 4 and 5 and a gem-diethyl group at position 8. The mol-ecule is close to planar (maximum deviation = 0.044?Å), with one ethyl group at each side of the mol-ecular plane, with exception of the keto group at position 1 which is slightly deviated from the plane and disordered over two positions one on each side of it (occupancies 0.80/0.20). The packing of the mol-ecule shows weak bonded chains along a through C-H?O contacts and two intramolecular C-H?O interactions are also present.
