ABSTRACT: In the structure of the title compound, [Mo(C(11)H(13)NO(3))O(2)(CH(3)OH)], the Mo(VI) ion is octahedrally coordinated by two oxide O atoms, the N atom and two deprotonated OH groups of the tridentate Schiff base ligand 2-meth-oxy-6-[(2-oxidoprop-yl)imino-meth-yl]phenolate and by a methanol O atom. In the crystal structure, two complexes are linked via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, yielding a centrosymmetric arrangement involving the methanol hydr-oxy group and one of the ligand O atoms coordinated to the Mo(VI) ion.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2(C9H10NO2)4], is built of discrete centrosymmetric dimers. The Cu(II) atoms are each five coordinated by two deprotonated Schiff base ligands that are bonded differently to the metal atoms. Of the two phenolate O atoms, one is coordinated to one Cu(II) atom, whereas another bridges the two metal atoms. The basal plane of the square pyramid around Cu(II) atoms is formed by the imino N and phenolate O atoms of the bidentate and the monodentate/bidentate Schiff base ligands. The bridging phenolate oxygen occupies the apical position of the coordination sphere with a considerably longer Cu-O bond length. In the crystal, the dimeric mol-ecules pack relative to each other in such a way that the Cu2O2 planes of adjacent dimers are orthogonal.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mo(C(14)H(12)NO)(2)O(2)], comprises half of the complex with the full mol-ecule generated by the application of twofold symmetry. The Mo(VI) atom is surrounded by two oxide O atoms and the two sets of N,O-donor atoms of the bidentate Schiff base ligands. The resulting N(2)O(4) donor set defines a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. Inter-molecular C-H⋯O contacts link mol-ecules into chains along the b axis. The crystal structure is further stabilized by inter-molecular π-π inter-actions [ring centroid-centroid distance = 3.724 (6) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [CoCd(C9H10NO2)3Cl2]·H2O, is a solvatomorph of the corresponding hemihydrate recently published by us [Nesterova et al. (2018 ▸). Appl. Cat. A, 560, 171-184]. The current structure reveals different cell parameters and space group compared with the published one while both are monoclinic with almost the same cell volume. The title compound is formed of discrete neutral dinuclear mol-ecules with no crystallographically imposed symmetry and water mol-ecules of crystallization. The overall geometry about the cobalt(III) ion is octa-hedral with an N3O3 environment; each ligand acts as a meridional ONO donor. The CdII coordination sphere approximates an irregular square pyramid with a chlorine atom at the apex. There is significant shortening of a Cd-O bond length to the oxygen atom of the methoxo group on one of the ligands [2.459 (3) Å] compared to the corresponding distance in the published structure [2.724 (7) Å], while other Cd-Cl/N/O bonds remain roughly the same. In the crystal lattice, the heterometallic mol-ecules, which are related by the crystallographic n-glide plane and inter-linked by weak hydrogen bonds to solvent water mol-ecules, form columns along [101]. Adjacent columns lie anti-parallel to each other.
