ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Au(2)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·2CH(3)CN, comprises a cyclic cation with a short intra-molecular aurophilic inter-action of 2.9220?(3)?Å. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions and acetonitrile solvent mol-ecules are located in channels formed by the complex cations that run along the crystallographic c axis. Each counter-anion is also engaged in a C-H?O contact with one of the methyl-ene H atoms of a 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane (dppe) ligand; another C-H?O contact involving an aromatic H atom is also observed.

Project description:The title centrosymmetric complex, [Cu(2)(CN)(2)(C(26)H(24)P(2))(3)]·2CH(3)OH, consists of two five-membered [Cu(dppe)CN] rings [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)ethane] bridged by one ?(2)-dppe ligand, and two methanol solvent mol-ecules. The angles around the central metal atom indicate that each Cu(I) atom is located in the center of a distorted tetra-hedron. The coordination sphere of each Cu(I) atom is formed by three P atoms from two dppe ligands, and one C atom from the cyanide ligand. The crystal structure is stabilized by O-H?N hydrogen bonds, which are formed by the O-H donor group from methanol and the N-atom acceptor from a cyanide ligand.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [Cu(2)Br(2)(dppe)(3)]·2CH(3)COCH(3) [dppe is 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)-ethane, C(26)H(24)P(2)], the two Cu centers are bridged by a dppe ligand and each metal center carries one chelating dppe unit, with the fourth coordination site available for the Br(-) anion. The mol-ecule is centrosymmetric, with the center of symmetry located between the methyl-ene C atoms of the bridging dppe ligand. The crystal structure is stabilized by intra-molecular C-H?Br hydrogen bonds and inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.2055?(1)?Å.

Project description:The crystal structure of a racemic mixture of the title ruthenium(II) complex, [RuCl(C(30)H(30)O(2)P(2))(2)]CF(3)SO(3)·2CH(2)Cl(2), reveals that the coordination geometry about the coordinatively unsaturated metal centre is approximately trigonal-pyramidal, with the chlorine atom occupying one of the equatorial positions. The axial Ru-P bonds are longer than the equatorial Ru-P bonds and there is an acute P-Ru-P angle.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(2)(C(2)H(4))(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)]·2C(7)H(8), each Ni atom is coordinated in a trigonal-planar geometry by two P atoms of the bridging 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane (dppm) ligands and by the centroid of the double bond of an ethene ligand. An eight-membered ring comprising the two Ni atoms, four P atoms and the CH(2) groups of the two dppm ligands is thus formed. The methyl group in one of the solvent toluene mol-ecules is disordered over two positions with equal occupancies.

Project description:Crystals of the title compound, C(30)H(20)F(12)P(2) or R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2) (R = 4-C(6)H(4)CF(3)), were inadvertently prepared while attempting to recrystallize a crude sample of trans-Re(Cl)(N(2))(R(2)PCH(2)CH(2)PR(2))(2) from diethyl ether. The molecule lies on a center of inversion. One of the rings lies approximately in the P-C-C-P plane; the dihedral angle is 174.53°.The other ring is not quite perpendicular; the dihedral angle is 71.1°. The compound is isostructural with the R = Ph, 4-C(6)H(4)CH(3) and 4-C(6)H(4)CH(2)CH(3) analogues. It is well known that the basicity of phosphines and diphosphines can be altered by changing the electron-donating ability of R; however, the structural parameters for the title compound do not significantly differ from those of the aforementioned substituted-phenyl compounds.

Project description:The title compound, [Pt(C??H??NP?)?](CF?SO?)?, consists of a Pt(II) atom, situated on an inversion centre, coordinated by two diphosphinoamine bidentate ligands and charge-balanced by two trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions. The Pt(II) atom has a distorted square-planar geometry defined by the four P atoms. The distortion is illustrated by the P-Pt-P bite angle of 70.31?(4)°. The geometry around the N atom deviates from a trigonal-planar geometry, evidenced by the P-N-P bite angle of 102.3?(2) °. The N atom is displaced by 0.114?(4)?Å from the C/P/P plane. In order to coordinate, the orientation of the phenyl rings alters from a C(s) conformation to a C(2v) conformation. The cyclo-pentane ring is slightly twisted: the puckering parameters are q(2) = 0.420?(5)?Å and ? = 26.5?(8) °. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anion displays a 0.511?(11):0.489?(11) positional disorder. Weak inter- and intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds influence the crystal packing.

Project description:The title complex, [Ag(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)(C(9)H(7)N)(2)](CF(3)SO(3))(2)·C(9)H(7)N, was prepared by the reaction of silver(I) trifluoro-methane-sulfonate with isoquinoline and bis-(diphenyl-phosphan-yl)methane (dppm). The dinuclear mol-ecule is located about a center of inversion and the Ag(I) atom is coordinated by two dppm P atoms and one isoquinoline N atom, forming an eight-membered metalla ring. In addition, in the asymmetric unit, there is a half-mol-ecule of isoquinoline located about a center of inversion. Since this mol-ecule does not possess this symmetry, for one position in the ring there is superposition of both a C atom of a C-H group and the isoquinoline N atom. In the structure, the Ag-P distances [2.4296 (9) and 2.4368 (9) Å] agree with the corresponding distances in related structures, while the Ag-N bond length [2.489 (3) Å] is slightly longer than that in related structures. On the other hand, the P-Ag-P angle [156.44 (3)°] is much larger than the corresponding angles in related structures. The trifluoro-methane-sulfonate anions do not coordinate to Ag(I) atoms. As is usually found for these anions, the -CF(3) group is disordered over two orientations [occupancies = 0.57 (12) and 0.43 (12)].

[Bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane-?P,P']dichloridopalladium(II).

Project description:The title complex, [PdCl(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))], is a slightly distorted square-planar bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane cis-complex of PdCl(2). The structure of a polymorph of the title compound has been described earlier, but the arrangement of the mol-ecules observed in the current structure is distinctively different from that previously reported [Steffen & Palenik (1976 ?). Inorg. Chem.15, 2432-2439]. The earlier report describes a structure with individual well separated mol-ecules crystallizing in space group P2(1)/n. The polymorph described here, which is isostructrural to its Pt analogue [Babai et al. (2006 ?). Z. Anorg. Allg. Chem.632, 639-644], crystallizes in C2/c with chains of C2-symmetric mol-ecules stretching parallel to the b axis. The Pd atoms and the bis-phosphino-methane units are located on two different positions created by a non-crystallographic mirror operation with an occupancy of 0.6677?(11) for the major (PCH(2)P)Pd moiety. The positions of the Cl atoms of the minor moiety do coincide perfectly with those of the next mol-ecule along the chain parallel to b, and they are thus not included in the disorder. The phenyl rings also do not take part in the disorder and are common to both the major and minor moieties of the (PCH(2)P)PdCl(2) units. Assuming no defects, mol-ecules in each chain will thus have to be oriented the same way and the effect of the disorder of the (PCH(2)P)Pd unit is thus a reversal in direction of the chains parallel to b. The presence of light streaks of intensity between actual Bragg peaks indicates that a somehow ordered arrangement not resolved in the Bragg diffraction data may be present (i.e. an incommensurate superstructure) rather than a random or domain arrangement of the chains.
