ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, {[Na(2)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(H(2)O)(4)](C(8)H(7)O(3))}(n), all the non-H atoms except the water O atoms lie on a crystallographic mirror plane. One sodium cation is bonded to four water O atoms and one vanillinate O atom in a distorted square-based pyramidal arrangement; the other Na(+) ion is six-coordinated by four water O atoms and two vanillinate O atoms in an irregular geometry. One of the vanillinate anions is directly bonded to two sodium ions, whilst the other only inter-acts with the polymeric network by way of hydrogen bonds. In the crystal, a two-dimensional polymeric array is formed; this is reinforced by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which generate R(2) (1)(6) and R(2) (2)(20) loops.

One Na(+) cation is coordinated by three carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules and the other is coordinated by five carboxyl-ate O atoms and two water mol-ecules in an irregular geometry. The bis-(pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ato)cobalt complex units are connected by Na(+) cations and bridging water mol-ecules into a three-dimensional coordination network. O-H?O hydrogen bonds are formed between the water mol-ecules and the carboxyl-ate O atoms.

Project description:The title compound, [CdNa2(C8H4O4)2(C3H7NO)(H2O)2] n or [CdNa2(1,3-bdc)2(DMF)(H2O)2] n , is a new CdII-NaI heterobimetallic coordination polymer. The asymmetric unit consists of one CdII atom, two NaI atoms, two 1,3-bdc ligands, two coordinated water mol-ecules and one coordinated DMF mol-ecule. The CdII atom exhibits a seven-coordinate geometry, while the NaI atoms can be considered to be penta-coordinate. The metal ions and their symmetry-related equivalents are connected via chelating-bridging carboxyl-ate groups of the 1,3-bdc ligands to generate a three-dimensional framework. In the crystal, there are classical O-H?O hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water mol-ecules and the 1,3-bdc carboxyl-ate groups and ?-? stacking between the benzene rings of the 1,3-bdc ligands present within the frameworks.

Project description:The title compound, C8H10O3, has two planar mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit possessing mean deviations from planarity of 0.051 and 0.071 Å. In the crystal, there are two distinct infinite chains, both along [010]. The chains are formed by O-H⋯O inter-actions between the phenol and both the 3-meth-oxy and the 4-meth-oxy groups.

Project description:In the title polymeric compound, [Ni(C8H5O3)2(C4H4N2)(H2O)2] n , the Ni(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and has a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination sphere. In the equatorial plane, it is coordinated by two carboxyl-ate O atoms of two symmetry-related monodentate formyl-benzoate anions and by two N atoms of the bridging pyrazine ligand, which is bis-ected by the twofold rotation axis. The axial positions are occupied by two O atoms of the coordinating water mol-ecules. In the formyl-benzoate anion, the carboxyl-ate group is twisted away from the attached benzene ring by 7.0 (6)°, while the benzene and pyrazine rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 66.2 (3)°. The pyrazine ligands bridge the Ni(II) cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b-axis direction. Intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the water ligands to the carboxyl-ate O atoms. In the crystal, water-water O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link adjacent chains into layers parallel to the bc plane. Pyrazine-formyl C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the layers, forming a three-dimensional network. Synthesis, crystal structure, and thermal properties of poly[aqua-(μ5-2,5-di-carb-oxy-benzene-1,4-di-carboxyl-ato)strontium].

Project description:A coordination polymer formulated as [Sr(H2BTEC)(H2O)] n (H4BTEC = benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carb-oxy-lic acid, C10H6O8), was synthesized hydro-thermally and characterized by single-crystal and powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and thermal analysis. Its crystal structure is made up of a zigzag inorganic chain formed by edge-sharing of [SrO8] polyhedra running along [001]. Adjacent chains are connected to each other via the carboxyl-ate groups of the ligand, resulting in a double-layered network extending parallel to (100). O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds of medium-to-weak strength between the layers consolidate the three-dimensional structure. One of the carb-oxy-lic OH functions was found to be disordered over two sets of sites with half-occupancy.

Project description:In the title coordination polymer, [Li(2)(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)(2)](n) the pyrazine-2,5-dicarboxyl-ate dianionic ligand bridges two symmetry-independent Li(+) ions using both its N,O-chelating sites. The carboxyl-ate O atom of one of them also bridges to another Li(+) ion, while the second O atom of this group is bonded to another Li(+) ion. Two symmetry-independent water O atoms participate also in the bridging system, which gives rise to a polymeric three-dimensional framework. Both Li(+) ions show distorted trigonal-bipyramidal LiNO(4) coordination geometries, with the N atom in an axial site in both cases. The packing is consolidated by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which occur between water mol-ecules as donors and carboxyl-ate O atoms as acceptors.

Project description:The title compound, [Li2(C12H6O4)(H2O)2] n , crystallizes with one half of the molecular entities in the asymmetric unit. The second half is gererated by inversion symmetry. The crystal structure has a layered arrangement built from distorted edge-sharing LiO3(OH)2 tetra-hedra parallel to (100), with naphthalenedi-carboxyl-ate bridging the LiO3(OH)2 layers along the [100] direction. Hydrogen bonding between the water molecule and adjacent carboxylate groups consolidates the packing.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Ca(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), was synthesized from pyrazine-2,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid and calcium dichloride under hydro-thermal conditions. The Ca(2+) cation is seven-coordinated by five O atoms and one N atom of four pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate anions, and one water mol-ecule. The complete deprotonated pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate anion adopts a μ(4)-coordination mode, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(C(6)H(3)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), contains an Li(I) ion with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment. It is chelated by a singly protonated ligand mol-ecule via its heterocyclic N atom, by two O aoms, each donated by an adjacent carboxyl-ate group, and is further coordinated by a water O atom which acts as a bridge, forming a mol-ecular ribbon. A proton attached to one of the carboxyl-ate O atoms is situated on an inversion centre and forms a short centrosymmetric hydrogen bond, generating mol-ecular layers parallel to the ac plane. These layers are held together by weak O-H?O hydrogen bonds in which the coordinated water mol-ecules act as donors, whereas carboxyl-ate O atoms are acceptors.
