ABSTRACT: The title dinuclear cadmium complex, [Cd(2)(NO(3))(4)(C(28)H(32)N(6))], is located on an inversion center. The unique Cd(II) ion displays a 5 + 2 coordination. A distorted square-pyramidal geometry is formed by the dipicolyl-amine group of the ligand via the N atoms in a meridional fashion and two O atoms of the nitrate ligands with short Cd-O distances. The coordination is completed by two loosely bound O atoms of the nitrate ligands.

The unique Cu(II) ion is in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal environment in which the N atoms of a dipicolyl-amine group and a bromide ligand form the basal plane. The apical site is occupied by a second Br atom. While the Cu-N distances involving the pyridine N atoms are the same within experimental error, the Cu-N distance involving the tertiary N atom is slightly elongated. Due to the typical Jahn-Teller distortion of copper(II) complexes, the apical Cu-Br distance is elongated.

The unique Cu(II) ion is coordinated in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal environment in which the N atoms of the dipicolyl-amine group and a chloride ligand form the basal plane. The apical position is occupied by a second chloride atom. While the Cu-N distances of the pyridine N atoms are the same within expermental error, the Cu-N distance to the tertiary N atom is slightly elongated. The apical Cu-Cl distance is elongated due to typical Jahn-Teller distortion. One of the water O atoms was refined as disordered over two sites with occupancies 0.734?(17):0.266?(17) and another with half occupancy. H atoms for the disordered solvent atoms were not included in the refinement.

The Cd-N distances involving the pyridine N atoms differ slightly from each other and the Cd-N distance involving the tertiary N atom is the longest. In the crystal structure, complex mol-ecules and solvent water mol-ecules are connected into a three-dimensional network via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds. One of the water mol-ecules lies on a twofold rotation axis.

The Cu(I) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from a 2,2'-bipyridine ligand and two P atoms from an N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis-[(diphenyl-phos-phan-yl)meth-yl]benzene-1,4-diamine ligand in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the crystal, inter-molecular C-H?F hydrogen bonds link the ions into layers parallel to [[Formula: see text]01]. ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.668?(4)?Å] are also observed. One F atom of the anion is disordered over two orientations with a refined occupancy ratio of 0.675?(13):0.325?(13).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))]ClO(4), consists of a cationic [Mn(ClO(4))(C(30)H(34)N(6))](+) complex and a perchlorate anion. In the complex, the Mn(2+) ion is seven-coordinated in an approximately penta-gonal-bipyramidal environment by six N atoms from the hexa-dentate N,N,N',N'-tetra-kis(2-pyridylmeth-yl)-cyclo-hexane-1,2-diamine (tpdach) ligand and one O atom from a perchlorate anion. The complex displays inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings (centroid-to-centroid distance 4.133?Å). Moreover, there are weak intra- and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The Cl atom and two O atoms of the perchlorate are disordered, with a site-occupancy factor of 0.59?(2) for the major component.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(2)(C(10)H(2)O(8))(C(16)H(20)N(4))(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Zn(II) atom is in a distorted tetra-hedral environment, being coordinated by one N atom from a 1,4-bis-(3-pyridyl-meth-yl)piperazine (3-bpmp) ligand, two O atoms from two carboxyl-ate groups of the pyromellitate anion and one water mol-ecule. The distortion of the tetrahedral coordination may be ascribed to the hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent water mol-ecules. Each Zn(II) atom links to three organic ligands and each pyromellitate ligand coordinates to four Zn(II) atoms, forming a (3,4)-connected infinite three-dimensional framework. O-H?N inter-actions also occur.

Crystal structure of 1,4-bis-[5-(2-meth-oxy-phen-yl)-2H-tetra-zol-2-yl]butane.

Project description:The title compound, C20H22N8O2, was synthesized by the coupling reaction of a sodium tetra-zolate salt and di-bromo-butane in a molar ratio of 2:1. The reaction can produce several possible regioisomers and the title compound was separated as the major product. The X-ray crystallographic study confirmed that the title compound crystallizes in the monoclinic P21/c space group and possesses a bridging butyl-ene group that connects two identical phenyl tetra-zole moieties. The butyl-ene group is attached not to the first but the second nitro-gen atoms of both tetra-zole rings. The dihedral angles between the phenyl groups and the adjacent tetra-zolyl rings are 5.32?(6) and 15.37?(7)°. In the crystal, the mol-ecules form centrosymmetric dimers through C-H?O hydrogen bonds between a C-H group of the butyl-ene linker and the O atom of a meth-oxy group.
