Catena-Poly[[[triaqua-sulfatozinc(II)]-?-3,3'-bis-(3-pyrid-yl)-1,1'-(m-phenyl-ene)diurea] methanol solvate monohydrate].

ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, {[Zn(SO(4))(C(18)H(16)N(6)O(2))(H(2)O)(3)]·CH(3)OH·H(2)O}(n), the Zn(2+) ion adopts a slightly distorted cis-ZnN(2)O(4) octa-hedral geometry arising from three coordinated water mol-ecules, one sulfate ion and two bridging 3,3'-bis-(3-pyrid-yl)-1,1'-(m-phenyl-ene)diurea (bpmpbu) ligands. The dihedral angles between the central benzene ring and two terminal pyridine rings of the bpmbpu mol-ecule are 10.58?(17) and 34.63?(16)°. In the crystal, the ligands bridge the Zn(II) ions, thus generating a one-dimensional zigzag coordination polymer propagating in [010]. The crystal structure features extensive N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Intra-molecular N-H?O and N-H?S hydrogen bonds result in the formation of non-planar six-, seven- and eight-membered rings. Project description:The title compound, {[Zn(C(12)H(8)O(4))(C(5)H(5)N)(H(2)O)]·C(5)H(5)N}(n), has been prepared by hydro-thermal reaction. The Zn(II) atom is six-coordinated by four carboxyl-ate O atoms of two p-phenylenediacrylate (ppda(2-)) ligands, one N atom of a pyridine mol-ecule and one O atom of a water mol-ecule in a distorted octa-hedral environment. The carboxyl-ate groups of the ppda(2-) anions are in a bridging-chelating mode, in which two O atoms chelate one Zn(2+) ion. These connections result in an extended chain structure. Parallel packing of the chains forms a two-dimensional network with inter-molecular edge-to-face inter-actions. Further linkages between the layers through O-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions result in a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture with one-dimensional recta-nglar channels.

Project description:The title coordination polymer, {[MnCl(C(18)H(14)N(4)O)(2)(H(2)O)]Cl·C(3)H(7)NO·H(2)O}(n), obtained by the solvothermal reaction of BIDPE and manganese(II) salt in H(2)O/DMF (DMF is dimethyl-formamide), is composed of a chain of [Mn(2)(BIDPE)(2)] [BIDPE is 1,1'-(oxydi-p-phenyl-ene)di-1H-imidazole] metallocyclic rings that exhibit inversion symmetry. The coordination about the Mn(II) ions is distorted octahedral with a MnClN(4)O coordination set. In the crystal, the polymeric chains are linked by O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (100). A number of C-H?Cl and C-H?O inter-actions are also present.

The Cu(2+) ion is six-coordinated by three water O atoms, and two N atoms and one O atom of the 2,2'-bipyridine-3,3'-dicarboxyl-ate bridging ligand in a sligthly distorted octa-hedral environment. The 2,2-bipyridine-3,3'-dicarboxyl-ate bridges link the Cu(2+) ions into chains along the b-axis direction. Project description:The title compound, C(18)H(30)N(4)O(2), contains two tert-butyl urea groups, each connected to a benzene ring though a methyl-ene group. One of the groups occupies a position almost normal to the aromatic plane with a C-N-C-C torsion angle of -94.4?(4)°, while the other is considerably twisted from the ring with a C-N-C-C torsion angle of -136.1?(4)°. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are connected to each other, forming centrosymmetric dimers in which two NH groups of one mol-ecule act as hydrogen-bond donors to one carbonyl O atom of the other mol-ecule.
