Diacridinium hexa-chloridoplatinate(IV) dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(13)H(10)N)(2)[PtCl(6)]·2H(2)O, contains a protonated acridine cation, one half of a [PtCl(6)](2-) dianionic complex and a solvent water mol-ecule. The octa-hedral [PtCl(6)](2-) dianion is located on an inversion centre. ?-? inter-actions between neighboring acridinium cations produce stacks along the a axis; the shortest distance between the centroids of the six-membered rings within the cations is 3.553?(9)?Å. In the crystal, two independent inter-molecular O-H?Cl hydrogen bonds, both involving the same Cl atom of the anion as acceptor, give rise to chains also running along the a axis; in addition each water mol-ecule, as a hydrogen-bond acceptor, is linked to the acridinium N-H group.

Project description:In the title compound, (C(7)H(10)N)(2)[SnCl(6)]·2H(2)O, the Sn(IV) atom lies on a site with symmetry 2/m. One of the Cl atoms lies on a mirror plane and the 3-methyl-anilinium cation is also situated on a mirror plane. The water mol-ecule is located on a twofold rotation axis. The H atoms of the methyl and ammonium groups and the solvent water mol-ecule are disordered by symmetry. In the crystal, N-H?Cl, O-H?Cl and N-H?O hydrogen bonds connect the organic cations, the inorganic octahedrally shaped anions and the water mol-ecules.

Dilithium hexa-hydroxidostannate(IV) dihydrate, a second monoclinic modification with a layer structure.

Project description:The title compound, Li2[Sn(OH)6]·2H2O, is dimorphic. As for the previously described ?-modification, the title ?-modification crystallizes in the monoclinic system and contains the same primary building units, viz [Sn(OH)6](2-) octa-hedra and [Li(?2-OH)3(H2O)] tetra-hedra. In contrast to the Sn-O bond lengths that are very similar in both modifications, the Li-O bond lengths differ significantly, in particular those involving the water mol-ecule. In the new ?-modification, the primary building units are linked into layers parallel to (010). The [Sn(OH)6](2-) octa-hedra (-1 symmetry) form hexa-gonal nets and the [Li(?2-OH)3(H2O)] tetra-hedra are situated in between, with their apices in an alternating fashion up and down. O-H?O hydrogen bonds between OH groups and water mol-ecules exist within the layers as well as between them.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, 2C5H6N5 (+)·SiF6 (2-)·2H2O, contains one adeninium cation, half of a hexa-fluorido-silicate anion located on an inversion centre and one lattice water mol-ecule. The adeninium cations are connected through N-H?N hydrogen bonds involving one H atom of the -NH2 group and the H atom of the protonated N atom of the adenine ring system, forming centrosymmetric ring motifs of the type R 2 (2)(10) and R 2 (2)(8), respectively. The overall connection of the cation leads to the formation of planar ribbons parallel to (122). In the ribbons, slipped ?-? stacking inter-actions, with a centroid-to-centroid distance of 3.6938?(9)?Å, an inter-planar distance of 3.455?Å and a slippage of 1.306?Å is observed. The hexa-fluorido-silicate anion and the water mol-ecule are linked through O-H?F hydrogen bonds [ring motif R 4 (4)(12)] into chains parallel to [100]. The cationic ribbons and anionic chains are finally connected through additional N-H?O, N-H?F and O-H?F hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network in which layers of adeninium cations and fluorido-silicate anions alternate parallel to (001).

In the crystal, the water mol-ecules and the [P6O18](6-) anions are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, generating infinite layers parallel to the ab plane. These layers are inter-connected by the organic cations through N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Dipotassium hexa-aqua-nickel(II) bis-[hexa-fluoridozirconate(IV)].

Project description:Single crystals of the title compound, K(2)[Ni(H(2)O)(6)][ZrF(6)](2), were grown by slow evaporation of a 40% aqueous HF solution in which a stoichiometric mixture of NiCl(2)·6H(2)O, ZrF(4) and KCl was dissolved. The monoclinic structure is isotypic with its K(2)Cu, K(2)Zn, Cs(2)Zn and Cs(2)Cu analogues. The structure is built up from isolated, slightly elongated octa-hedral [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) complex cations (symmetry ) and dimeric [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) complex anions (symmetry ) that are also isolated from each other. The [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) anion results from the association of two distorted penta-gonal-bipyramidal [ZrF(7)] coordination polyhedra by sharing an equatorial edge passing through an inversion center of the unit cell. Both isolated [Ni(H(2)O)(6)](2+) and [Zr(2)F(12)](4-) complex ions are situated in planes parallel to (010). They are connected by the eight-coordinated K(+) ions into a three-dimensional structure. An intricate O-H?F hydrogen-bonding network consolidates the structure.

Project description:The title compound, KNa[H(6)PtMo(6)O(24)]·11H(2)O, contains a discrete hexa-molybdoplatinate(IV) [H(6)PtMo(6)O(24)](2-) poly-anion (1 symmetry), which has the highest level of protonation. Five O atoms of the central PtO(6) octa-hedron (?(3)-atoms, Oc) and one O atom of an outer edge-sharing MoO(6) octa-hedron (O bridging ?(2)-atom, Ob) are protonated. The polyanions are connected by almost linear O-H?O hydrogen bonds between protonated and unprotonated Ob atoms. Further consolidation of the crystal structure is accomplished by extensive O-H?O hydrogen bonding involving the uncoordinated water mol-ecules. The two independent K(+) cations are equally disordered about a twofold rotation axis.
