Bis(tetra-propyl-ammonium) di-?(3)-iodido-di-?(2)-iodido-diiodidodi-pyridine-tetra-copper(I).

ABSTRACT: The title compound, (C(12)H(28)N)(2)[Cu(3.194)I(6)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)] was prepared from reaction of copper powder, copper(I) oxide, hydro-iodic acid, tetra-propyl-ammonium iodide and pyridine under hydro-thermal conditions. In the centrosymmetric Cu(4)I(6) (2-) anion, one Cu site is in a trigonal-planar coordination while the second Cu site, which is only partially occupied [site occupancy of 0.5968?(16)], is surroundedby three iodine atoms and one pyridine molecule in a distorted tetrahedral coordination.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear title compound, [Cu(4)I(4)(C(10)H(8)N(2)S(2))(2)], there are two different Cu(I) atoms with tetra-hedral coordination geometries. One is chelated by a pyridine N atom and an S-donor from one di-2-pyridyl disulfide ligand and coordinated by two I atoms, while the second Cu(I) atom is coordinated by a pyridine-N and three I atoms. Iodine bridges between the Cu(I) atoms form a tetra-nuclear structure.

Project description:The structure of the title compound, (C(24)H(20)P)(2)[Te(2)I(6)], is composed of discrete PPh(4) (+) cations and centrosymmetric [Te(2)I(6)](2-) anions. The tellurium(II) atom shows a sligthly distorted square-planar TeI(4) geometry and is coordinated to two bridging and two terminal iodine atoms. The planar [Te(2)I(6)](2-) ions are isolated by the cations and no inter-molecular tellurium-halogen or halogen-halogen inter-actions are present.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric tetra-nuclear complex, [Cu(4)I(4)(C(15)H(17)N(5))(2)], the two distinct Cu(I) atoms adopt similar tetra-hedral arrangements, each being ligated by two I atoms, and two N atoms from one 2,6-bis-(3,5-dimethyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl)pyridine ligand. In the crystal, there are no hydrogen bonds present, and only very weak ?-? inter-actions are observed [centroid-centroid distance = 3.985?(4)?Å], which connect neighbouring tetra-nuclear units into a chain motif along the b axis.

Project description:The title polymeric compound, [Cu(2)I(2)(C(8)H(7)N(3))(2)](n) [C(8)H(7)N(3) = 3-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)pyridine (HIPy), where HIPy comes from the in situ deca-rboxylation of 2-(pyridin-3-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarb-oxy-lic acid (H(3)PyIDC)], was obtained under solvo-thermal conditions. Each Cu(I) cation is in a distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment defined by two iodide anions and two nitro-gen atoms from two individual HIPy ligands. Two Cu(I) atoms are connected by two HIPy ligands to form a dimer and these dimers are further bridged through the iodide atoms, leading to a chain structure extending parallel to [100]. Moreover, inter-molecular N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds and weak π-π stacking inter-actions [centroid⋯centroid distances of 3.809 (4) Å, an inter-planar separation of 3.345 (3) Å and a ring slippage of 1.822 Å] between pyridyl rings link the chains into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network in the ac plane.

Crystal structure of di-?-iodido-bis-[bis(aceto-nitrile-?N)copper(I)].

Project description:The title compound, [Cu2I2(CH3CN)4], exhibits a centrosymmetric Cu2I2 core [Cu?Cu distance = 2.7482?(11)?Å], the Cu(I) atoms of which are further coordinated by four mol-ecules of aceto-nitrile. The Cu(I) atom has an overall distorted tetra-hedral coordination environment evidenced by L-Cu-L angles (L = N or I) ranging from 100.47?(10) to 117.06?(2)°. The coordination geometries of the aceto-nitrile ligands deviate slightly from linearity as shown by Cu-N-C angles of 167.0?(2) and 172.7?(2)°. In the crystal, there are no significant hydrogen-bonding inter-actions present, so the crystal packing seems to be formed predominantly by van der Waals forces.

Project description:The title compound, (C16H36N)2[MnCl4]·2CH2Cl2, is an ionic organic-inorganic hybride compound consisting of a tetra-butyl-ammonium cation and a tetra-chlorido-manganate(II) anion in a 2:1 stoichiometric ratio. The cation contains a central nitro-gen atom bonded to four n-butyl groups in a tetra-hedral arrangement, while the anion contains a central MnII atom tetra-hedrally coordinated by four chlorido ligands. It co-crystallized with two equivalents of di-chloro-methane solvent, CH2Cl2, to give the following empirical formula: [(C4H9)4N]2[MnCl4]·(CH2Cl2)2. The crystal structure is mainly stabilized by Coulombic inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Cu(C(5)H(5)N)(2)(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]BF(4), crystallizes as discrete [(PPh(3))(2)(py)(2)Cu](+) cations and [BF(4)](-) anions and is isostructural with the analogous perchlorate salt. The anion is located in close proximity to the pyridine ligands with weak C-H⋯F inter-actions apparent. The P(2)CuN(2) coordination geometry is pseudo-tetra-hedral, with P-Cu-P and N-Cu-N angles of 116.02 (6) and 101.5 (2)°, respectively.

Project description:The isostructural title compounds, {(C7H7N2)2[SnI4]} n , (1), and {(C7H5F2N2)2[SnI4]} n , (2), show a layered perovskite-type structure composed of anionic {[SnI4](2-)} n sheets parallel to (100), which are decorated on both sides with templating benzimidazolium or 5,6-di-fluoro-benzimidazolium cations, respectively. These planar organic heterocycles mainly form N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds to the terminal I atoms of the corner-sharing [SnI6] octa-hedra (point group symmetry 2) from the inorganic layer, but not to the bridging ones. This is in contrast to most of the reported structures of related compounds where ammonium cations are involved. Here hydrogen bonding to both types of iodine atoms and thereby a distortion of the inorganic layers to various extents is observed. For (1) and (2), all Sn-I-Sn angles are linear and no out-of-plane distortions of the inorganic layers occur, a fact of relevance in view of the material properties. The arrangement of the aromatic cations is mainly determined through the direction of the N-H⋯I hydrogen bonds. The coherence between organic bilayers along [100] is mainly achieved through van der Waals inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, {[Cu(2)I(2)(C(12)H(8)N(6))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)]·2CH(3)CN}(n), contains centrosymmetric dinuclear Cu(2)I(2)(PPh(3))(2) units bridged by 3,6-bis-(4-pyrid-yl)-1,2,4,5-tetra-zine ligands lying also across crystallographic inversion centers, giving a chain structure in the ab plane. The distorted tetra-hedral Cu(I) atoms in the dinuclear unit are coordinated by two bridging iodide anions, one pyridine N atom from the substituted tetra-zine ligand and one terminal triphenyl-phosphine P-atom donor. The Cu⋯Cu distance is 2.8293 (12) Å, implying a weak Cu⋯Cu inter-action.

Project description:The title compound, (C(2)H(8)N)(4)[Cu(C(6)H(2)N(10))(2)Cl(2)], consists of an anionic complex which is composed of a Cu(II) ion surrounded by four N atoms from two pyrazine-2,3-diylbis(1H-tetra-zol-1-ide) ligands, and two Cl(-) atoms in a trans-Cl(2)N(4) coordination geometry; the Cu(II) atom lies on a site of symmetry 2/m. The Cu-Cl distance of 2.8719?(5)?Å is long due to the Jahn-Teller distortion of the d(9) electron configuration of Cu(II) ion. The tetra-zole and pyrazine rings make an N-C-C-N torsion angle of 38.25?(17)°. The charge of the anionic complex is balanced by four dimethyl-ammonium cations, which inter-act with the anionic complexes via N-H?N and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds.
