ABSTRACT: The structure of the title salt, C(24)H(20)P(+)·H(8)B(3) (-), at 120?(2)?K has triclinic (P1) symmetry with an unusual Z = 5, although there is pseudosymmetry observed with the tetraphenylphosphonium cations exhibiting I symmetry. One of the anions is disordered over two sets of sites with refined occupancies of 0.478?(11) and 0.522?(11).

Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(20)P(+)·C(2)HO(4) (-), two symmetry-independent ion pairs are present. The cations aggregate into puckered sheets via zigzag infinite chains of sixfold phenyl embraces and parallel fourfold phenyl embraces, while the anions form hydrogen-bonded chains between the sheets of cations. In the two independent oxalate anions, the angles between the normals to the two least-squares carboxyl-ate COO planes are unusually large, viz. 72.5?(1) and 82.1?(1)°.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, (C(24)H(20)P)(2)[WS(4)], which was prepared under hydro-thermal conditions, contains tetra-phenyl-phospho-nium cations linked by supra-molecular inter-actions into chains running along the [110] and [10] directions. The [WS(4)](2-)anions, which lie on twofold axes, are located in the cavities created between the cation chains.

Project description:The title compound, (C21H20OP)(C19H15N4)[CuCl4], was obtained by reacting CuCl2·2H2O with a mixture of one equivalent of acetonyltri-phenyl-phospho-nium chloride and one equivalent of 2,3,5-tri-phenyl-tetra-zolium chloride in aceto-nitrile. In the structure, the Cu centre in the dianion is bonded to four chloride ligands and adopts a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The phospho-nium cation likewise adopts the expected tetra-hedral geometry. The tetra-zolium ring forms dihedral angles of 77.68 (10), 26.85 (11) and 66.48 (10)° with the planes of the benzene rings of the substituent groups. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving both cations and the anion give rise to a three-dimensional supra-molecular structure.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title salt, C(44)H(38)P(2) (2+)2BF(4) (-), consists of discrete dications inter-laced with the BF(4) (-) counter-ions. In each cation, both phospho-nium groups lie on the same side of the plane of the central benzene ring. The tetra-fluoro-borate anions are involved in intensive thermal motion, thus some B-F bond lengths [range 1.329?(6) to 1.391?(6)?Å] deviate significantly from their standard values.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C(24)H(20)P)(2)[Pt(C(7)H(5)NO(2)S(3))(2)]·H(2)O, consists of two tetra-phenyl-phospho-nium cations, two half bis-[N-(phenyl-sulfon-yl)dithio-carbim-ato]platinate(II) dianions and one water mol-ecule. The anions are completed by crystallographic inversion symmetry associated with the central Pt(II) ion. The Pt(II) ion is doubly S,S'-chelated by two symmetry-related phenyl-sulfonyl-dithio-carbimate ligands, forming a slightly distorted square-planar configuration. Besides the electrostatic attraction between oppositely charged ions in the crystal packing, intra-molecular C-H?O and several inter-molecular C-H?O, C-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the cations, anions and water mol-ecules are observed.

Project description:The title salt, [P(NHCH(2)C(6)H(5))(4)](+)·Cl(-), crystallizes with the P atom and Cl(-) anion lying on a twofold rotation axis. The P atom has a slightly distorted tetra-hedral geometry with two classes of N-P-N angles [101.15?(10) and 100.55?(11)° and 113.07?(9) and 114.83?(8)°] and the environments of sp(2)-hybridized N atoms are essentially planar (sum of angles = 359.9 and 360.1°). In the crystal, the phospho-nium ion inter-acts with each neighboring chloride ion via two approximately equal N-H?Cl inter-actions, forming parallel chains along the c axis.
