N'-[(E)-4-(Diethyl-amino)benzyl-idene]-4-nitro-benzohydrazide monohydrate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(18)H(20)N(4)O(3)·H(2)O, the two aromatic rings are linked through a methyl-idenehydrazide fragment, which is fully extended with C-C-N-N, C-N-N=C and N-N=C-C torsion angles of 179.4?(2), 174.7?(2) and 178.3?(2)°, respectively. The dihedral angle between the two aromatic rings is 7.01?(8)°. In the crystal structure, the water of hydration is involved in extensive hydrogen bonding. Inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds link the components of the structure into a two-dimensional network and additional stabilization is provided by weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The dihedral angle between the two substituted benzene rings is 38.7?(3)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O, O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds into a two-dimensional network parallel to the (100) plane. The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak C-H?O inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(15)H(13)N(3)O(3)·H(2)O, the two benzene rings form a dihedral angle of 2.03 (2)°. In the crystal structure, adjacent hydrazide mol-ecules are linked into dimers by water mol-ecules; these dimers are then stacked along the b axis. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O, O-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and a π-π stacking inter-action between the nitro-benzene and tolyl rings with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.8208 (3) Å are observed. There is also a short O⋯N contact [2.6824 (7) Å].

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(12)N(4)O(3), the dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 7.6 (4)°. In the crystal, infinite sheets linked by N-H⋯O and bifurcated N-H⋯(O,N) hydrogen bonds propagate in the (10-1) plane, in which R(4) (4)(36) loops are apparent. Project description:The title compound, C(21)H(17)N(3)O(5)·H(2)O, exists in the keto form with an E conformation with respect to the azomethine double bond. The twist angles between the aromatic rings are in the range 4.67 (10)-17.54 (10)°. A water mol-ecule of solvation is present in the lattice. A conventional intra-molecular O-H⋯N hydrogen bond increases the rigidity of the mol-ecule. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O, N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions establish a supra-molecular linkage among the mol-ecules in the crystal structure. There are also C-H⋯π inter-actions present.

The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings in the two hydrazide mol-ecules are 0.11?(5) and 0.77?(5)°. In one mol-ecule, an intra-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond generates a ring of graph-set motif S(5). Inter-molecular N-H?O, O-H?O, O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions between the benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances in the range 3.5021?(6)-3.6403?(6)?Å] are observed, together with O?O [2.7226?(11)?Å], O?N [2.7072?(10)?Å] and N?O [2.7072?(10)-2.8582?(12)?Å] short contacts. The hydrazine mol-ecules are stacked along the b axis and adjacent mol-ecules are linked by water mol-ecules.
