Methoxo[N'-(3-meth-oxy-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)benzohydrazidato]oxidovanadium(V).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [V(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))(CH(3)O)O], the V(V) ion exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry; three donor atoms from a hydrazone ligand and one O atom of the deprotonated methanol define the coordination basal plane. The V(V) ion is displaced by 0.464?(1)?Å from the basal plane towards the axial oxide O atom. Intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonding occurs. Inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding is also observed in the crystal structure.

In the title complex, [V(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))(CH(3)O)O], the V(V) ion exhibits a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry; three donor atoms from a hydrazone ligand and one O atom of the deprotonated methanol define the coordination basal plane. Project description:In the title dioxidomolybdenum(VI) complex, [Mo(C(17)H(16)N(2)O(5))O(2)(CH(3)OH)], the Mo(VI) atom is coordinated by the phenolate O, imine N and enolic O atoms of the tridentate hydrazone ligand, one methanol O atom, and two oxide O atoms, forming a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry. The oxide O atoms adopt a cis conformation: one is trans to the methanol O atom and the other is trans to the ligand N atom. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings in the hydrazone ligand is 4.0?(3)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the title benzil-idene Schiff base molybdenum(VI) complex, [Mo(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(3))O(2)(CH(3)OH)], the Mo(VI) ion is coordinated by two oxide O atoms and by two O atoms and one N atom of the tridentate N'-(3-meth-oxy-2-oxidobenzyl-idene)benzo-hydrazidate (L) Schiff base ligand. The methanol O atom completes the distorted octa-hedral configuration of the Mo(VI) atom. Strong O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds form a C(5) chain around a 2(1) screw axis. Weak C-H-O hydrogen bonds are also present.

Project description:The title oxidovanadium(V) complex, [V(C(17)H(16)N(2)O(3))(CH(3)O)O], was obtained by the reaction of 3-eth-oxy-2-hy-droxy-benzaldehyde, 4-methyl-benzohydrazide and vanadyl sulfate in methanol. The V(V) atom is coordinated by the O,N,O'-tridentate Schiff base ligand, one methano-late O atom and one oxide O atom, forming a distorted VO(4)N square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The oxide O atom lies at the apex of the square pyramid and the N atom of the ligand and the methano-late O atom are trans. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings of the ligand is 1.8 (3)°.

The metal ions are bridged by one O atom from the symmetry-related Schiff base ligands, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complex. The dimeric complex is linked to another dimer via weaker Cu-O inter-actions and also O-H?N hydrogen bonds.
