Pre-B-cell colony-enhancing factor (PBEF) (also known as nicotinamide phosphoribosyltransferase) is a rate-limiting enzyme in the salvage pathway for mammalian biosynthesis of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD(+)).
