ABSTRACT: In the centrosymmetric title compound, 2C(4)H(12)NO(+)·C(8)H(4)O(4) (2-), two N,N-dieth-yl(hy-droxy)ammonium cations are linked to a benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate dianion by a combination of O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which can be described in graph-set terminology as R(2) (2)(7). The crystal structure is further stabilized by C-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to the fomation of a ribbon-like network.

Project description:In the title molecular compound, C(4)H(12)NO(+)·C(8)H(5)O(4) (-), the N,N-dieth-yl(hy-droxy)ammonium cation (DTHA) is linked to the 3-carb-oxy-benzoate anion (HBDL) by O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with a graph-set motif R(2) (2)(7). In the crystal, helical chains are formed by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, propagating along [010]. The crystal structure is further stabilized by π-π inter-actions between inversion-related HBDL benzene rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.900 (4) Å] and C-H⋯O inter-actions.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(17)H(19)NO(5), was prepared by a Hantzsch dihydro-pyridine synthesis from 4-hy-droxy-benzaldehyde, methyl acetoacetate and NH(4)HCO(3). In the mol-ecular structure of the title compound, the dihydro-pyridine ring adopts a flattened boat conformation and the plane of the base of the boat forms a dihedral angle of 80.8 (2)° with the aromatic six-membered ring. The packing is stabilized by strong inter-molecular N-H⋯O(carbon-yl), O(hydrox-y)-H⋯O(carbon-yl) and weak intra-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

These N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds generate a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title salt, C4H12NO2 (+)·C6H2N3O7 (-), contain two bis-(2-hy-droxy-eth-yl)ammonium cations and two picrate anions. An intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond occurs in each cation. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds, which generate two R 2 (1)(6), an R 2 (2)(10) and an R 2 (2)(13) graph-set ring motifs. There are also a number of C-H?O hydrogen bonds present. The sum of these inter-actions leads to the formation a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, 2C(5)H(7)N(2) (+)·C(10)H(4)O(8) (2-), the 2-amino-pyridinium (2-apyH) cation and 2,5-dicarb-oxy-benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (btcH2) anion are both nearly planar, with r.m.s. deviations of 0.015 and 0.050 Å, respectively. The angle between the latter least-squares planes is 17.68 (9)°. The overall crystal structure results from the packing of two-dimensional networks, formed by alternating 2-apyH and btcH2 linked by hydrogen bonds, parallel to (100).

In one of these mol-ecules, one of the isobutyl groups is disordered over two sets of sites, with an occupancy ratio of 0.890 (2):0.110 (2). The crystal structure is further stabilized by weak C-H⋯π inter-actions.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[Ce(2)(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(10)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(12)](C(8)H(4)O(4))(2)}(n), consists of half a Ce(III) cation, a quarter of a coordinated benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate (bdc(2-)) dianion, a quarter of a 4,4'-bipyridine (bpy) mol-ecule, three water mol-ecules and a half of an uncoordinated benzene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate dianion. The Ce(III) ion is located on a twofold rotation axis and exhibits a distorted trigonal prism square-face tricapped coordination geometry. The coordinated and uncoordinated bdc(2-) ions and the bpy mol-ecule lie about special positions of site symmetries 2/m, m and 2/m, respectively. The Ce(III) ions are bridged by the bdc(2-) and bpy ligands, giving a sheet structure parallel to the ac plane. The uncoordinated bdc(2-) dianion exists between the sheets and links the sheets by inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the uncoordinated bdc(2-) and coordinated water mol-ecules. A ?-? stacking inter-action between the uncoordinated bdc(2-) dianion and the bpy ligand [centroid-centroid distance = 3.750?(4)?Å] is also observed.

Project description:The title compounds {systematic names (E)-[diazene-1,2-diylbis(3,1-phenyl-ene)]bis-(di-methyl-silanol) and (E)-[diazene-1,2-diylbis(4,1-phenyl-ene)]bis-(di-methyl-silanol)}, both of the sum formula C16H22N2O2Si2, were obtained by transmetallation of the respective bis-stannylated azo-benzenes with di-chloro-dimethyl-silane and esterification followed by hydrolysis. The asymmetric unit of 3,3'-diazenediylbis[dimeth-yl(phen-yl)silanol] (with the silanol functional group in a meta position) consists of two mol-ecules, of which one occupies a general position, whereas the second is located on a centre of inversion. In 4,4'-diazenediylbis[dimeth-yl(phen-yl)silanol] (with the silanol functional group in a para position) likewise two mol-ecules are present in the asymmetric unit, but in this case both occupy general positions. Differences between all mol-ecules can be found in the torsions about the N=N bond, as well as in the dihedral angles between the benzene rings. In both structures, inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding is observed, leading to the formation of layers parallel to (01-1) for (I) and to chains parallel to the a axis for (II).
