ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Mn(C(10)H(6)O(7))(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·2H(2)O, the Mn(II) atom is coordinated by two O atoms from one 2-(3-carb-oxy-5-carboxyl-atophen-oxy)acetate (HOABDC(2-)) dianion and one water mol-ecule and by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline (phen) ligands within a distorted octa-hedral geometry. O-H?O hydrogen bonding between -COOH and -COO(-) groups of adjacent mol-ecules and between carboxyl-ate groups and coordinated and uncoordin-ated water mol-ecules leads to a three-dimensional structure which is further stabilized by weak ?-? inter-actions of adjacent phen ligands with centroid-centroid separations of 4.2932?(1)?Å.

Project description:In the centrosymmetric dinuclear title complex, [Mn(2)(C(16)H(10)NO(2))(4)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Mn(II) cation is in a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry defined by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, one water O atom and three O atoms from three 2-phenyl-quinoline-4-carboxyl-ate anions. A pair of 2-phenyl-quinoline-4-carboxyl-ate anions bridge two Mn cations, forming the dinuclear mol-ecule. An intra-moleculr O-H?O hydrogen bond occurs. Inter-molecular O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds are present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(2)HCl(2)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)], the Cu(II) ion has a distorted square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The equatorial positions are occupied by two N atoms from a 1,10-phenanthroline ligand [Cu-N = 1.994 (3) and 2.027 (3) Å] and two O atoms from dichloro-acetate ligands and a water mol-ecule [Cu-O = 1.971 (2) and 1.939 (2) Å]. One O atom from another dichloro-acetate ligand occupies the apical positon [Cu-O = 2.152 (3) Å]. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers. The crystal packing also exhibits weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.734 (2) Å] and short inter-molecular Cl⋯Cl contacts [3.306 (2) and 3.278 (2) Å].

Project description:The title compound, [Co(C(12)H(8)N(2))(H(2)O)(4)](2)[Co(H(2)O)(6)](C(11)H(7)O(8))(2)·4H(2)O, was obtanied by the reaction of cobalt acetate with 3,5-bis-(carb-oxy-meth-oxy)benzoic acid and 1,10-phenanthroline. The asymmetric unit contains one tetra-aqua-(1,10-phenanthroline)cobalt(II) cation, one half of a hexa-aqua-cobalt(II) cation that is completed by inversion symmetry, one 3,5-bis-(carboxyl-atometh-oxy)benzoate trianion and two lattice water mol-ecules. The two Co(II) atoms each show a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination (CoO(6) and CoO(4)N(2)). The cations, anions and lattice water mol-ecules are linked by an intricate network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional structure.

The water O atoms are in a trans arrangement and one of them forms an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond to the uncoordinated O atom of the acetate ion. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules and water mol-ecules are connected by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds to generate a three-dimensional network.

Within the pcp ligands, the dihedral angles between the polycyclic skeletons and pendant pyridine rings are 6.2 (2) and 8.3 (2)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by O-H⋯N and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. Several aromatic π-π stacking inter-actions [shortest centroid-centroid separation = 3.516 (3) Å] are also observed.

The two Ni(II) atoms are linked by two bridging homophthalate dianions into a centrosymmetric dinuclear unit. The dinuclear units are linked into one-dimensional ladder-like chains along [100] by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and one of the O atoms of the carboxyl-atomethyl group.
