[N-Benzyl-N-(diphenyl-phosphanylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine]-chloridomethyl-platinum(II).

ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title complex, [Pt(CH(3))Cl(C(25)H(23)N(2)P)], the N-benzyl-N-(diphenyl-phosphanylmeth-yl)pyridin-2-amine functions as a bidentate ligand with the pyridyl N atom and the phosphine P atom chelating the Pt(II) ion, forming a six-membered metallocycle. The Pt(II) atom adopts a square-planar coordination geometry with one methyl group and one chloride ligand bonding to the metal center in a cis relationship. C-H?? and C-H?Cl inter-actions help to consolidate the packing.

The Pt(II) atom is in a distorted square-planar environment and is bound to the ligand via the P and amine N atoms in a cis fashion, with the chlorine atoms located at the two remaining sites.

Project description:In the title compound, C(31)H(27)NP(2), the diphenyl-phosphanyl groups are staggered relative to the PNP backbone. The N atom is displaced by 0.219 (2) Å from the plane formed by the two P atoms and the methylene C atom. The angles around the N atom are 120.84 (16), 113.29 (16) and 120.57 (12)°, indicating that it exhibits a distorted trigonal-pyramidal geometry. There are no classical inter-molecular inter-actions.

Project description:The title compound, [Pt(2)(C(16)H(11)N(2))(2)(C(18)H(17)N(2)P)](ClO(4))(2), contains two Pt(II) atoms, bridged by an N-[(diphenyl-phosphino)meth-yl]pyridin-2-amine (dppmp) ligand. One Pt atom is coordinated by one P atom from the dppmp ligand, and one C atom and two N atoms from a 6-phenyl-2,2'-bipyridine (pbpy) ligand in a square-planar geometry. The other Pt atom is coordinated by one N atom from the dppmp ligand, and one C atom and two N atoms from another pbpy ligand in a square-planar geometry. There are intra-molecular π-π inter-actions between the pbpy ligands, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.62 (1) Å between two pyridyl rings. The oxygen atoms of both perchlorate anions are disordered, each over two different positions [occupanicies 0.49 (3)/0.51 (3) and 0.48 (2)/0.52 (2)].

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [PtCl(2)(C(25)H(22)NPS)]·0.5CH(2)Cl(2), was determined to establish the coordination properties of the (phosphan-yl)benzyl-idene-methanamine ligand to platinum. In the unit cell two mol-ecules of cis-[PtCl(2)(C(25)H(22)NPS)] are accompanied by a dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule. The square-planar Pt(2+) coordination sphere is slightly distorted with the bidentate ligand coordinated via the P and the amine N atoms, and the Cl atoms located cis at the two remaining coordination sites. Parts of the thiophene ring and the solvate molecule were modeled as disordered with occupancy ratios of 0.55?(2):0.45?(2) and 0.302?(10):0.198?(10), respectively. Weak C-H?Cl inter-actions stabilize the crystal packing.
