ABSTRACT: In the mononuclear title compound, [Cu(II)(C(18)H(12)N(2)O(2))(C(5)H(5)N)], the Cu(II) ion is coordinated by two O atoms and one N atom from the dianionic tridentate L(2-) ligand (H(2)L is 2-hy-droxy-1-naphthaldehyde benzoyl-hydrazide) and one N atom from a pyridine mol-ecule in a CuN(2)O(2) distorted square-planar coordination environment.

Project description:In the title dinuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(19)H(11)N(3)O(3)S)(C(5)H(5)N)(2)], the two Cu(II) centers have different coordination environments, viz. N(2)OS and N(2)O(2), each exhibiting a distorted square-planar geometry. ?-? inter-actions between the aromatic rings of neighbouring complexes [centroid-centroid distance = 3.856?(5)?Å] link pairs of mol-ecules into centrosymmetric dimers, which are further packed into stacks along the b axis with relatively short Cu?Cu separations of 3.482?(1)?Å. Weak inter-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bonds help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title complex, [Cu(C(13)H(11)N(3)O(2))(2)(C(12)H(8)N(2))](NO(3))(2), the Cu(II )atom (site symmetry 2) is coordinated by four N atoms from one 1,10-phenanthroline and two hydrazine ligands, respectively. The hydrazine ligands coordinate to the Cu(II)atom by a pyridine N atom. These four atoms form a slightly distorted square-planar N(4) donor set. In the packing, two additional Cu?O inter-actions occur [Cu?O = 2.462?(2)?Å], resulting in a typical Jahn-Teller-distorted octahedral environment around the Cu atom. N-H?O hydrogen bonds result in a three-dimensional network. The O atoms of the anion are disordered over two positions in a 0.68?(2):0.32?(2) ratio.

Project description:In the title compound, [Cu(2)(C(15)H(12)N(2)O(4))(2)(C(6)H(5)N)(2)], each Cu(II) atom is chelated by the tridentate doubly deprotonated Schiff base and a pyridine mol-ecule in a nearly planar environment (r.m.s. deviation for all non-H atoms = 0.107?Å). The metal ions are bridged by one O atom from the symmetry-related Schiff base ligands, forming a centrosymmetric dinuclear copper(II) complex. The dimeric complex is linked to another dimer via weaker Cu-O inter-actions and also O-H?N hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the crystal structure of the title compound, [CuCl(C(5)H(5)N)(4)][N(CN)(2)]·2C(6)H(5)N, the copper(II) cations are coordinated by one chloride anion and four N-bonded pyridine ligands into discrete complexes. The copper(II) cation shows a square-pyramidal coordination environment, with the chloride anion in the apical position. However, there is one additional chloride anion at 3.0065?(9)?Å, leading to a disorted octa-hedral coordination mode for copper. The copper(II) cation, the chloride ligand and the central N atom of the dicyanamide anion are located on twofold rotation axes. Two pyridine solvent molecules are observed in general positions.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(12)N(4)O, crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The compound crystallizes as the ZE isomer, where Z and E refer to the configuration around the C=N and N-C bonds, respectively, with an N-H?N(py) (py is pyridine) intra-molecular hydrogen bond. The dihedral angles between the least-squares planes through the semicarbazone group and the pyridyl ring are 22.70?(9) and 27.26?(9)° for the two mol-ecules. There are intermolecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The Cu(II) ion is coordin-ated by the NO(2) donor atoms of the hydrazide Schiff base ligand, the N atom of the pyridine group and an O atom of the symmetry-related unit. Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [CuBr(2)(C(6)H(7)N)(2)], contains one half-mol-ecule, the whole mol-ecule being generated by inversion through a center located at the Cu(II) atom. The geometry around the Cu(II) atom is square planar. Semicoordinate Cu?Br bonds [3.269?(1)?Å] and nonclassical C-H?Br hydrogen bonds connect the mol-ecules, forming chains running parallel to the a axis. These chains are further linked via additional C-H?Br hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.
